Oh boy, if the unification of Koreas turned into reality, i can't imagine how many lifes would take a step up from their misery.

Life in North Korea must be so harsh. ohdearplz.png

it's not like their lives will become sugar right away, yhey need to adapt to capitalism society and well, merging of 2 countries will be a major mess, I don't think South Korea will handle it economically (and in many others way such as social issues, work places, education level of North Koreans).

When USSR ruined, my family worked for food talons and a veeery small amount of money for years, the country experienced 2 defaults and very huge spike of criminal tension (they called it "reckless 90s")

. And it is with all factories and resources Russian Soviet republic had, +soviet people were pretty free and open to capitalism in last 5-10 years of Soviet Union.

Idk what will actually happen to a weak, strict, resoursless country such as North Korea, and South Korea is too small and weak to pick up an actual country. I think if regime will fall in NK, the country will be on reabilitation period for a long long time with support from SK and (no doubt) USA. Idk how reunion is possible. I think it will be separate country for a long time or even forever.

Long story short - North Koreans need to go a long way for happy lives. And they should start in NK - when regime becomes more weak and tolerant to outside world and information (it is already less strict, people there live not as bad as before)

P.s. and also we suffer from repercussion of USSR messy fall till this day. Many Institutes, factories were robbed, ruined or "privatized" by oligarchs

all those thiefts and bandits are now in government or have power and they keep ruining our country.

You're right, i don't think it would be something so quick or like something even near.

NK and SK are way too different, and even tho some people are open to receive the NKoreans, there are still those strict who also fear them, and they would probably riot against it.

I can't imagine how hard it must have been for your family, even tho i find it quite interesting to heard about. I'm an history stan lol.

Overall we have to wait and see, also, to pray and hope for a healthy live for those who live in NK.

I saw a brazilian documentary once, called "Não conta lá em casa" and they went inside NK for a festival, wich i guess its the only time, at least on that time it used to be, the only time they "open their doors" for visitors. It was quite shocking how... lunatic the NK seemed to be, because they put Kim Jong Il/Un in a God level, also the kids and university students looked at them in such a bizare way, cuz they were physically different from them. Anyway, let's just wait.
