soshijjangbak 32
I'm thinking about starting a new fanfiction after I finish the one I'm working on now, and I want to lighten things up and make a fluff. I know that fluff is cute and all, but what exactly is considered cute? How much is too cute? I just want to know if there are any good tips and tricks to writing a good fluff. Also, please list things that are overused in fluff fanfictions so I can know not to use them.

ehmy 1,931
Just stay away from cliche situations and one-liners. Fluff is best if it's refreshing. If it's already been done, then it's probably not going to come across as cute but more as annoying. Also, keep it realistic unless you are going to go for cracky fluff. So stay away from doing the typical asian drama moments and I should be fine? Thank you~
ehmy 1,931
Got it. So stay away from doing the typical asian drama moments and I should be fine? Thank you~ I mean, if you think you can do them in a refreshing way, then that might actually be a good thing. Sometimes, twisting something so cliche into something brand new can make for a miraculous read. However, be careful not to fall into traps with it. The most important thing with fanfic is to remember your audience, which is mostly teenage girls and others who are interested in those very dramas that can become quite repetitive. I guess what I mean is, don't copy things from any dramas outright, and be careful with phrases that seem like something right out of one of those shows. However, stick to something your readers can relate to. May I ask what kind of fluff you want exactly? Like is it romance or just slice-of-life? Is it yaoi, yuri, boyxgirl? It's going to (probably) be a Yulsic fanfic so romance/yuri. And ah, I get it now. So cliche with a twist? Hmm, sounds a bit difficult to pull off but I'll see if I can make it work. I'll be off now to watch some dramas and get inspiration. ^^ Thank you (again) for your help!

Thank you~ One liners can be good though, if they're not actually the honest enfatuated driving point of the attraction, and they're for comedic effect.
