Rio224 300
So i got a new battery for my car from autozone, and for whatever reason the employee recommended me getting these red and green pads to put over my battery terminals. They were an extra $5 and he said they eat and keep corrosion off of your terminals...so i shrugged and said sure why not. I have never heard of such a thing,my question is did this guy just sell me snake oil? It's all good if he got over on me it was just $5...but is this a legit item? i tried google and can't find any info on it. the pads are the red and green circles over my terminal posts. EunMinYeon 545
They are anti-corrosion pads. Last time I had the battery on my car changed (from new it had to be changed within 3 months damn Vauxhall ) I had those put on and this was from the actual car dealership so they're legit. They basically stop the terminals corroding, I don't know why you were charged in the UK most places i've had my car serviced at put these on for free. mgl 5,919
They help, but if you use your car and clean/maintain it often, it's usually not essential. It's up to you to get them, but they are not useless.

silicon soul 19,457
Yeah they're legit. I never used them but supposedly they reduce corrosion greatly. But tbh it not really necessary, once a year I just pour a bit of coke on the terminals, scrub a bit then wash it off. Never had a hint of corrosion.
