As the situation in Ukraine goes from unstable to about to completely fly off the rails, Japanese Interent users couldn’t help noticing something about the new attorney general appointed in Crimea. While the 33-year-old Natalia Poklonskaya is, without a doubt, holding one of the most difficult jobs in the world right now, netizens in Japan quickly took to the forums to praise for being…so beautiful?

As the world focuses on the vote to decide the fate of Crimea this weekend, some Japanese netizens seem to only have eyes for Natalia, whose press conference has drawn over 140,000 views since being reposted to a Japanese YouTube Channel on March 13. The video, which you can check out below, features the young woman answering questions and “blinking rapidlyâ€.

Sure, there are slightly more pressing matters at hand in Crimea, but here are the photos that are driving Japanese netizens crazy. It’s not hard to see why so many seem to have fallen head-over-heels for the young woman!

A guy on another forum I am an user of called her "moe". XD Well, she is cute, and she must also be quite intelligent, if she didn't obtain her job because of corruption or other less than legal means (it's Russia we're talking about...). But, she works for Putin, and I don't think we should squee over a person that is, essentially, the puppet of a borderline dictator, that could share some of his more... conservative... views.

Considering her position, she is pretty. But if you just forget her title and job, her looks are rather ordinary to me. Still cute I suppose. But average and plain and not in the bullshit yoona-and-suzy-are-plain ways either.
