Jiyong's Wifey 537
I found that a lot of foreigners that teach English in Korea are doing it for the wrong reasons.I mean, the reasons aren't wrong, but just saying. Some just apply for the job to be in Korea and get a glance at Idols. Some, would even admit that they don't like teaching English in Korea, but, that the only way for them to live there. WTF? I came across someone vlog on youtube, where they vlogs were mainly about clubbing and going to the bars in hangdae and going to fan-signings. They don't even Explore other parts of korea or at least travel to other asian countries and they been in korea for like 2 years, and never stepped foot outside of seoul. so would you Teach English in korea for the experience, the money, to meet idols or all the above? h0neanias 13,516
I'm not crazy, so no. But if planned to go into teaching ESL no matter what, Korea is not that bad a place to get experience.

SAYAKA 9,964
No I wouldn't do it just to meet idols. If i wanted to teach English in Korea, I would really have to be interested in doing so. And seeing idols could be an added plus.

cowgirlbebop 3,908
I dont know where people get this idea that you can just go to Korea and meet idols everywhere. You dont. That said, you dont have to be particularly big on seeing the rest of Korea or Asia to justify living there. I lived in Seoul for one year, and only went to Busan once and once to Vietnam on a class trip. Seoul is a very dynamic city, with a ton of stuff to do. You can do just fine there without having to go everywhere else. I plan on moving back soon.

luxuriouss86 185
No! why would I do that? that's ridiculous. after I graduate from a university in 2019, i would move and live in korea just to work as a graphic designer. im not doin that just because of kpop. I want to explore around korea and take pictures with family and friends
Property of Goddess Irene 9,760
It's a way to get some pocket money and travel abroad, but don't except to get something out of it in the long term. Besides those people who actually care about teaching ESL, I think it's usually white or black males from the West who want to find an easy way to lay Korean women. They are known to have high standards for Korean men but open their legs more easily for foreign men.
elle 118
Never will I ever do it for that reason. If I‘ll go there to teach or something,it would be for more important than to meet idols.
Jon Snow 14,255
nahh I wouldnt do that just to see idols. Boss Bae â™” 49
Go live in a country where I'll probably feel alienated and teach something just to get a 2 second glance at oppar? Nope, never.

RubberDuckyTai 2,731
I thought about teaching in S.K. (and China as well), but the thought of going idol hunting never crossed my mind. I just wanted something different in my life as a teacher. I'd go for the experience (and travel around the country) but nothing else.
cowgirlbebop 3,908
It's called meet and greets and Fan-signings. No, Im talking about people who think you move to Korea and there are celebrities everywhere, walking down the street or something. People used to ask me, "omg, how often do you see idols???", and Im like, "uhhh... never?" wow you lived in Korea for a year. Was it a culture shock or ok?? I was thinking of going Japan. It is certainty different than being in the US, but its not too much of a shock if you are adaptable. After I got used to eating Korean food all the time and having people stare at me (and ask to touch me) everywhere I went, it's pretty much just like living in any other big city. I absolutely loved it there.

You have to prepare for your heart and stomach because Korean food disagrees with your stomach LOL I would love to get a job in SK just for the sake of getting out of my country, but I dislike teaching. If it's a teaching job, I would immediately refuse it LOL. And no, I wouldn't use my time to chase idols.
