4 Korea Music Association trying to block Idol Survival Shows

Recommended Posts

Its about time. If not, there will be a massive horde of idol survival shows in the upcoming years.

There will be success, but there will be many pain and heartbreaks either. There's more disadvantages than advantages.

We are getting a little burned out on survival shows.

Well, now I think about it-

I don't know whether it's denial or just wishful thinking but why don't we realize that idol shows highlight what every trainee experiences when the cameras aren't rolling and there are no witnesses? In fact, the teachers are probably nicer to the idol hopefuls because the cameras are there.

At least these shows put a face and name on the otherwise anonymous hopefuls who work towards achieving a dream. People don't truly know what these trainees go through, which is why it's been so easy for individuals to say things like, "stop complaining about your life", "I'm supposed to feel bad for a celebrity", "it couldn't have been that hard since you stayed". Yes, these shows seem stressful but that's because they show the bts of what people really do when they are trying to make it-which is a stressful. They're going to experience these things anyway, they're just making viewers share that uncomfortable reality with them, instead of having to deal, alone.

I think that I'd rather they gain fans, talk about their feelings, and have support through empathetic viewers than suffer in silence, not telling friends or family about their experience and then drift into anonymity after 7+ years of their lives have been wasted. You think that you feel bad watching them get rejected? Imagine how they feel actually being rejected. And it's that realization that results in outpouring of encouraging messages for these contestants when they would otherwise, have nothing.

i think its more about these shows killing off idol agency.

why would i pay debt to train in agency. i can just straight away register to survival shows

I'm not talking from a business standpoint, their concern will almost always be revenue and profits but from a fan and idol viewpoint-looking at the massive popularity that some of these shows have garnered for trainees who people wouldn't have even known, alternatively.

Remember that time in 1996 when a boy group was created using an artist training system? And then another boy group came out. And then a girl group. And then another girl group. And then another boy group.

I feel bad for the guy that was like "I hate this trend, good thing it's just a fad and it'll die out in a few years!"

I was worried something like this would happen. I was fine when I figured it would just be Idol school, Produce 101 and possibly Sixteen 2, but we really don't need 10 different idol survivals.

That being said, people are going to watch it if they're interested or let it flop if they're not. It's best to just let things fail on their own instead of trying to intervene like this.

you're wrong if wanna1 members receive alot of money. 99% taken by companies and mnet

eh?

You're saying that the companies & business take the money...which is what I just implied.

They take the money to take care of the debt incurred by trainees for the training system and short-term contracts that they sign before debut.
