I doubt this is a gimmick since Sony has been working on it since the Move was announced in 2009...It's now clear (and was hinted at during the presentation) that the Move, DS4, and PSEye 2 were designed with VR as the ultimate goal. rumpelstiltskin 37 Posted March 21, 2014 Share Posted March 21, 2014 from what I've heard from people who've used this new generation of VR, it's not a gimmick. the same people who've always hated 3D, wii, kinect, etc. have hailed this (specifically occulus rift but it applies to the concept in general) as the future because unlike those other peripherals and gimmicks, it actually enhances the core gaming experience - that's the key.
