Jiyong's Wifey 537
How long will their fame and Job as an Idol last?. BTW, I just hate the label Idol.I prefer Artist. Do idols believe that they will make it big and possibly become rich, like G-dragon.(just a thought) The only idol whom I know has become very successful and RICH, is G-dragon. I mean the possibilities are endless, right? But not when there are Groups Debuting every other month or so. The competition just escalates. I know some idols are very passionate about performing, some have even been blessed with great signing abilities. But, what about the idols that audition with no real talent; the ones who are accepted just because of their looks. Don't get me wrong, I like Kpop - I listen to it everyday. But some thing just seem questionable. I don't mind looking at cute faces, but I would to like hear someone who can actually sing, you know- hit some high notes. Blow my mind with their voice. Is just all for fame and popularity? So, what do you think?

Night 10,627
Some of the top idols make a lot of money. 2PM are making money. for exemple Khun alone got paid 1 million usd for a drama. I don't mind looking at cute faces, but I would to like hear someone who can actually sing, you know- hit some high notes. Blow my mind with their voice. Jun. ohmygosh 384
I don't think the average idol is capable of making an extravagant amount of money. If they do nothing more than promote songs that their company provides them, eventually their sales will decline. It's just going to happen at some point. If an idol were to branch into production, there would be a greater chance for them to increase their income. An idol would probably earn more money from those royalties if they manage to produce a hit song. CF's and acting gigs are a bonus, too. But honestly, all those nugu idols aren't going to see much. Is just all for fame and popularity? So, what do you think? I'd like to think everyone that auditions to be a star has a pure interest in become one. Of course, financial stability is certainly an appealing incentive. The ones that are accepted for their physical appearances, perhaps they have a keen interest in modeling, or becoming an actress, or a TV host, etc etc. I think if a person has good foundations, certain talents can be trained and even perfected with lots of hard work. As for idols becoming wealthy, most kpop group doesn't last more than 7-8 years right? It's hard to achieve such a financial goal in a short period of time. I think idols can very well get rich within that time. But wealthy is a different story. I read that for the first 2-3 years, idols in groups doesn't make much from group activities, because they have to give a large share to their agency. Solo activities and CF contracts tend to be what pulls in the money for idols? Sorry if I'm way off the mark here.
ezgiT 3,098
i think some will become wealthy i mean lee hyori signed to mnet ent back in 2006 for â‚©2.2 billion and became the highest-paid female singer in South Korea (approx.US$650,000 per year) for a while and she was an idol back then! so yknow, also when lee hyori went on a hiatus for three years, she said she legit lived of her savings, which she got from cf's! i think as long as idols have many cf's, theyre making money! example: Suzy, she's earning way more now because of the amount of CF's she has

030413 802
Someone working at McDonalds part time in USA or Canada makes more money then the average idol. I'm actually shocked at how long nugu groups stick around for. I guess companies invested so much they don't want to give up so they keep going even though they are losing money. Idols do get a lot of nice gifts from fans and sometimes they get free clothes but actual money only top groups (Big Bang, Super Junior, TVXQ.) As popular as Exo is now they aren't making any money currently to be proud of but they can expect to start making that money when they start holding world yours.
