NotMomochan 116 Posted August 1, 2017 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I dont understand how Rap/hip Hop whatever its name is became a genre :/ I dont understand the whole thing because it doesnt take much skill or talent so whats the hype about This "genre" is popular whorld wide and I dont get it Anyone can speak with ~~flow~~ to a beat and thats what rap is. So where's the talent Singing takes pure Talent and I cringe horribly whenever a rap song is charting so high cause WHY And the fashion is so Is it even fashion???? It was initially used as a medium to express frustration and rebellion against oppression, about letting your voice be heard. Also, it was about representing your culture, your neighborhood, your people. Now, not so much, but every once in a while you'll find authentic rap. Also, rap is just one aspect of hip hop culture. Art, dance, and written word (literature or even graffiti) are other aspects. And to be honest, the same thing you're complaining about can be said for singing. Because someone sings does not mean they are automatically above or better than someone who raps. Also, remember we are on a kpop sight. It's pop music, not some deep opera or Broadway production.
