When k-nets make accusations they go by charting patterns from previous releases and compare it to a group's current overall popularity. When they caught 4minute, Rainbow, and Brave Girls cheating, it was obvious to them because they were groups who were not known for bulk orders, due to small fan bases. There were irregularities with their daily/weekly sales, and that set off warning signals. Then there's the issue with 4minute's increase and decrease in album sales--20K to 50K to 20K.
