I was just rewatching it a moment ago, and then I noticed that they updated their video description.

This is what it says:

Hello every one. Sorry to bring you guys badnews.
Unfortunately, we decided not to upload the final version of Shingeki no This Love.

As many of you already know, Hajime Isayama posted a tweet that has offended many South Koreans. Obviously, the tweet has also hurt our feelings too. We had a long conversation and came up with a decision that we shouldn't post a media that's going to support his manga in any way.

Please understand that this was a tough decision for us to make. We've put a lot of effort in to this project, and it is heartbreaking that it had to end like this.

Thank you for giving us overwhelming love and support 'till now.

I know I'm really late on this, but wow... after I found out about what Hajime Isayama said... I just can't...  I don't know what to say to be honest.

Here is what he said:

"I believe that categorizing the Japanese soldiers who were in Korea before Korea was a country(??) as ‘Nazis’ is quite crude."

"Also, I do not believe that the people whose populations were increased twofold by Japan’s unification(??) of the country can be compared to people who experienced the Holocaust. This type of miscategorization is the source of misunderstanding and discrimination."

What is your take on this?

Well, I heard that it wasn't even Hajime's twitter.

Oh really?  Hmmm interesting...

That could explain why it is so hard to find articles about this controversy.

But they also said it was found on his blog as well though.

I can understand why the twitt offended the south korean netizen

The Japanese atrocity was equal or more severe than holocaust but it's underplayed by japanese educator and view from west in general.

edit: ^ so it might not be him ? Hopeful so, cause i enjoyed his work .

He would actually talk about such a thing on twitter?

Sounds a bit...........idk

Wait does that mean a good portion of Koreans are Japanese? Hmmm interesting

Wait what?!  No.

The point of the controversy was about the sheer ignorance behind the comment that he made about the holocaust and the Japanese colonization of Korea.

Exactly.

And yes, I am also an avid fan of the manga too.

Where's the actual evidence of the tweets?

But anyway, yes, it's a quite stupid comparison in my opinion. He's trying to ignore the actions of Japan, foolishly... but comparing the two events and groups is unnecessary and stupid in the first place.

Unless these type of things really affect and offend people, I don't see the reason in stopping from enjoying his works/reading/watching/etc. Because of a tweet? Some personal issues that have nothing to do with the series whatsoever?

Anyway, everybody is different I guess.

Can't really blame him for having this mindset though.  If anyone is to blame, then that would be the Japanese education system and their government.  They don't teach the people of Japan about the atrocities and damage that older generations have inflicted upon other countries during Japanese Colonization and World War II.  Hajime Isayama is simply a perfect example of what the Japanese education has become, and it also explains why there are still quite a few people who resent Japan for their wrongdoings.

And I respect the decision of the South Korean artist to stop supporting the manga, because of the above reasons.
