I'm the youngest of 5 in the family (two older siblings and two parents), so unless something happens, then I pretty much have to experience four funerals; four experiences of saying goodbye. The prospect of me being all alone during my death is a little unnerving too. And I also get afraid of them having a painful death, or perhaps waking up in their tomb. I used to be able to ignore these things earlier but now that my parents are in their 50s and my siblings are in college the age gaps are really hitting me and it makes me realize that they're going to die sooner or later and IT'S SCARY. As for me dying, it's fear of the unknown (and waking up alive in the tomb because there have been many stories of resuscitation in the hospital and such despite being considered clinically dead and all). Just what happens after death? What happens to your conscious? Where does it go? Does reincarnation even exist? Also, yeah, I've had pretty shitty times in my life but for the most part life is pretty darn great tbh. I don't want to lose that. It kinda makes me wish me and my loved ones were immortal. Kind of. idk maybe I just have that growing "death anxiety" as wikipedia says? These days I can't sleep at night whenever anything relating to death pops up in my mind, and it doesn't help that I'm currently at a nursing exploratory camp. YooJeong 6,303 Posted July 30, 2017 Share Posted July 30, 2017 My only fear is not getting to do some things...not getting to grow up, have a family, have a career, travel, do things on my bucket list....T___T But if we die, well, we'll forget about everything so I guess it won't matter....I'm not afraid of death, but it makes me feel really sad nowadays.
