YNRA 1,082 Posted July 25, 2017 Share Posted July 25, 2017 im transferring to a school a few hrs away they were supposed to assign me housing like a month ago but they said they were having staff issues and they wont be done assigning housing until aug 5 aug 1 is when all fees/tuition are due but they said if youre assigned after aug 1 then youll have abt 2 weeks to pay for housing they basically told me to start looking for apartments outside the school like idk what to do. im not from the area, ill quit my job in a few days, i have abt 10k in savings that i was going to use for housing and a student loan for 2.5k. the tuition i gotta pay in a few days and its 5k. do you think i should just drop everything and just wait until next semester becus this is some bullshit. i dont think its normal for someone to be told 2 weeks before school starts that they may have no where to stay. or do you think i should just start looking for apartments and roomates? i rlly wanted to live on campus because otherwise i would have to take my moms car from her (my parents have 3 cars) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Go on your university page, and ask if anyone is subleasing their apartment for a quarter(Do it now), so you have somewhere to live. For a quarter it should cost 600-1000 for a single room per month. It's cheaper if you are willing to couch it on someone's living room too. Good luck, if the worst comes and you can't find a subleased apartment just go to CC get some transferable credits and just go from there when you can come back with a room next semester. Up to you.
