Glorious Entertainment has announced that Ji Chang Wook will hold a fan meeting on 20 June 2015 at the Star Hall inside the Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre (KITEC) in Hong Kong!

 

 

The KITEC Star Hall measuring 30,000 square feet is capable of accommodating 3,600 audience members or up to 160 tables. The column-free design, 50-feet-high ceiling, custom-built stage, state-of-the-art audio system and supporting facilities make it an ideal venue for all kinds of local and international happenings.

 

 

 

Ticket prices start at $480 HKD up to $1,380 HKD and will go on sale through www.hkticketing.com (date yet to be announced).  Other details regarding the fan meeting will be announced shortly.

 

Glorious also states that Hong Kong will be the first stop of the “This is JCW in ASIA†tour, with future fan meetings to follow throughout selected cities.  So who knows… maybe Ji Chang Wook may be visiting your hometown later this year!

Ji Chang Wook to hold first Asia fan meeting tour

 

 

Actor Ji Chang Wook will be holding his first Asia fan meeting.

After holding a fan meeting in Taiwan last August, he will be having a special time with fans in Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan with a tour titled “This is JCWâ€. Ji Chang Wook, who is garnering much attention in Asia recently, is now a rising Hallyu star. He has received warm interest from the media and fans abroad with various magazine interviews and events in countries such as Hong Kong and Shanghai.

 

He has also proven his new status having participated recently in the filming of China’s top variety show on Hunan TV’s “Happy Campâ€, creating greater anticipation for him not just in China, but also across Asia. To repay the warm interest and love that fans have given him, he is now working hard at making preparations. There is great excitement to see what kind of image he has prepared to win the hearts of fans in Asia.

 

 

A spokesman said, “Through the fan meeting tour this time, he will have time to have more intimate interaction with fans. This will be a special stage where you will get to see the various charms of Ji Chang Wook that you haven’t seen before.â€

Ji Chang Wook, who is having his provincial tour of the musical “The Days†in Korea, will be performing in Jinju on the 16th and 17th this month. He will be heading to Jeju for his final performance on 31 May.

[Event] Ji Chang Wook attends VIP screening of “Ganshinâ€

 

 

On 18 May 2015, Ji Chang Wook came out to support his hyung Joo Ji Hoon by attending the red carpet VIP premiere of his movie “Ganshin†(“The Treacherousâ€) at the Seoul Lotte World Cinema in Sincheon, Songpa-gu.

 

Directed by Min Kyu Dong (who previously worked with Joo Ji Hoon on the movie “Antique Bakeryâ€), “Ganshin†is the story of Joseon’s tyrant Prince Yeonsangun (Kim Kang Woo), who exploits his subjects for fame, fortune and carnal pleasure instead of governing.  His seemingly loyal retainer Im Sung Jae (Joo Ji Hoon) is actually in control of the Prince and all government dealings for his own benefit (hence, the title of “The Treacherousâ€).  A woman chosen from amongst 10,000 throughout the kingdom for Prince Yeonsangun’s harem (Lim Ji Yeon) has her own mysterious motives for entering the palace.

 

The 19+ movie is to be released in Korea on 21 May 2015.

Ji Chang Wook sat down for an interview with Sina when he visited China recently, and the video was released today as part of Sina’s Zui Hallyu/æœ€éŸ©æµ series (literally translated as Most Hallyu) which zooms in on Korean celebrities.

 

In the video, he answers mostly the same generic questions that he has been asked many times before, so none of these should sound new to those who have been dutifully following his various interviews, although his response at the last part did surprise me a little. Hmm…

 

 

 

The video was translated from Korean, but I couldn’t quite hear what the reporter was saying at certain parts, so I would rely on the Chinese subs for such instances (although there are some timing mistakes in the Chinese subs).

[News] Ji Chang Wook narrates audio guide for Andy Warhol exhibit

 

 

Ji Chang Wook has provided the audio guide narration for the upcoming “Andy Warhol LIVE†retrospective exhibition presented by the ARTMON Art Exhibition and Design Group at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (the same venue where the Seoul Fashion Week festivities are held each year) beginning 6 June 2015 and running through 27 September 2015..

 

 

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was a leading pioneer during the mid-to-late 20th century Pop Art Movement.  This exhibition will be one of the largest displays of his artwork and mixed media pieces that are currently housed at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA).

 

The exhibition will present approximately 400 of Warhol’s representative works, from his early childhood through just prior to his death.  Concentrating on silk-screen portraits of famous figures such as Marilyn Monroe, Mao Zedong, Michael Jackson and Muhammad Ali, Warhol is most famous for his paintings of cans of Campbell’s Soup.  In addition, newly-discovered digital pieces and short films not seen in over 30 years will be on display, along with a shop where visitors may purchase replicas of Warhol’s masterpieces for their own homes.

 

 

This is a wonderful project for Ji Chang Wook to be involved with… and a great opportunity to hear his mellifluous voice in your ears while he describes these amazing pieces of art.  Don’t miss it!

[Event] Ji Chang Wook to attend 2015 Love and Hallyu Carnival in Chengdu

 

 

Ji Chang Wook will be a featured guest at the “Love and Hallyu Carnival (爱与韩æµå˜‰å¹´åŽ)†concert as part of the 2015 Chengdu China-Korea International Cultural and Tourism Exchange Week (2015æˆéƒ½ä¸­éŸ©å›½é™…文化旅游交æµå‘¨) that will take place from 18 to 22 June, 2015. 

 

To be held at the Chengdu International Intangible Cultural Heritage Park (æˆéƒ½éžé—åšè§ˆå›­), the Love and Hallyu Carnival will comprise of several concerts held separately from 20-22 June featuring Kpop stars and OST singers including PSY, ballad singer The One, Super Junior, Kim Jong Kook, Haha & Skull, Lyn, Crayon Pop and Hello Venus.

 

The festival is meant to promote cultural exchange between China and South Korea, and to also commemorate 23 years of bilateral relations.

 

There are still no concrete details as to what Ji Chang Wook will be doing at the event, but his attendance is confirmed as he greets everyone:
