we dont really know. He filmed the video at the end of May so somethings could have change. I think his Thailand/China fanmeeting probably won't happen due to MERS since his Taiwan fm is still postpone due to MERS

[Movie] Ji Chang Wook’s first movie lead role in “Fabricated Cityâ€

 

 

As we first reported months ago, Actor Ji Chang Wook will be venturing beyond dramas to the big screen as the lead of a new movie.

 

Ji Chang Wook has been chosen to front director Park Kwang Hyun’s new action movie “Fabricated City†(working title; produced by TPS Company) as the lead, and is now making preparations for filming. Before commencing filming, Ji Chang Wook and the production team gathered at a certain place in Seoul on the afternoon of 27 June to hold a prayer ceremony to pray for a safe production of the movie.

 

Ji Chang Wook has grown in ability and popularity after starring in the KBS 2TV drama “Healer†in the beginning of the year and MBC’s “Empress Ki†last year.

 

Since last year in particular, Ji Chang Wook has rode on the Hallyu Wave that is going strong in China and has gained greater recognition in countries across Asia. With that rise in fame, he has received many movie offers and has gone through great pains to make his decision.

 

This movie belongs to the crime action genre. The movie is a revenge story about a man who has been wrongly accused and seeks to set right his own destiny.

 

Ji Chang Wook will be the main lead who drives the story. Having made his big screen debut in 2010’s “Death Bell 2″ with a supporting role, this will be the first time he is playing the lead in a movie.

 

Meanwhile, the synergy that will be created with the collaboration between Ji Chang Wook and director Park Kwang Hyun is drawing attention.

 

Director Park who is famed for the movie “Welcome to Dongmakgol†was initially preparing for the fantasy movie “The Fistâ€, a big-scale collaboration with China, but he has since changed plans and will be directing “Fabricated City†first, hence meeting with Ji Chang Wook.

[Movie] Ji Chang Wook to star with Shim Eun Kyung in movie “Fabricated Cityâ€

 

 

Actor Ji Chang Wook and Shim Eun Kyung have begun filming a movie.

 

“Fabricated City†(working title; “Jo Jak Dwaen Do Shi†in Korean) is a crime action movie about a man, Kwon Yoo, whose life is turned upside down after being framed for murder for no reason, who then confronts the case that has been carefully manipulated.

 

Director Park Kwang Hyun showed perfect casting in his 2005 movie “Welcome to Baekmagol†which drew close to 8 million moviegoers. In “Fabricated Cityâ€, with a line-up comprising of Ji Chang Wook, Shim Eun Kyung, Oh Jung Se, Kim Sang Ho, Kim Ki Chon, Ahn Jae Hong, Kim Min Kyo and more, he rounds up a cast that is refreshing with individuals who possess their own unique abilities.

 

Ji Chang Wook, who has become a star not just locally but also in Asia through the drama “Empress Kiâ€, plays Kwon Yoo, a great leader of Team Resurrection in the online gaming world who is actually an insignificant unemployed man in reality.

Starring as Kwon Yoo who slowly changes after he is set up as a murderer by someone, Ji Chang Wook will be stripped off his chic and modern city look to show a different image of himself, including the natural look of an ordinary man in his twenties with a rough energy.

Moving away from his current refined image, Ji Chang Wook, who has transformed into the ordinary appearance of a guy in his twenties, led the filming at the set with passion. Shim Eun Kyung, who is playing Yeo Wool, came to the filming location even though she had no scenes to film, bringing more warmth to the atmosphere.

 

Ji Chang Wook spoke about his first filming, “I filmed with an excited heart and complicated mix of feelings filled with nervousness, excitement and anticipation. I’m confident that this show will be a very interesting one, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the filming.â€

I’m resting as I get ready for my next piece.  Personally, I think I was more at ease when shooting <Healer>.  Now, I’m much more busy due to musical <Those Days> tours.

 

You seem to be always working.  Wanting to give you a rest, we created ‘Ji Chang Wook’s Break’ as a concept.  How do you usually enjoy your time off?

 

Rather than do something grand for enjoyment, I think meeting my friends and people I like is way to enjoy my vacation.

Also, I like sports and enjoy it.  Since the weather is so nice out, I enjoy playing soccer and basketball.  Sometimes I walk around the track at Hangang River.

 

We heard that you’re on your tour for musical <Those Days>.  Can you give a brief summary and explanation of your character and the musical?

 

First, the musical <Those Days> is about body guards at the Blue House, and it’s an episode about love and friendship between the body guards.

 

The role I take from <Those Days> are ‘Kang Moo Young’.  He’s a man with free and pure sensitivity and is quite playful.

 

 

Working on both musical and drama, wasn’t it tiring?

 

I was already working on the musical before drama.  There were difficulty matching schedules between drama and musical, but fortunately, I was able to successfully complete both drama and musical.

 

Is there any special reason why you made a challenge in musical?

 

In a way, I started the musical before any program on TV.  I always had interest of musical ever since I was young.  The fact that I can act and sing in a musical made a huge impression on me, and I also love both genres.

 

 

What are plans for rest of year 2015.

 

Well, I have fan meeting planned and have last musical performance at Jejudo.  I’m planning on finishing all of them in success and with all my heart.  After the last musical performance, I will be making a trip to overseas for a photo shoot.
