Hear any improvement from f(x) in Pink Tape?

Okay..... /casually ignored.

Krystal belted again in Pink Tape.  She did a C#5 at 2:46 (i think)

What's the highest note in Luna's adlib at 2:52?

I saw that but I coudln't answer because I was on phone sorry xD

I think Luna didn't rly improved, she's just as good as she has been since their last album or her lives on IS2. No resonance for her in any track. But all the high notes were all healthy. Those in Pretty Girl are F#5's and are the only notes I'm not sure if the larynx was stable (it's the highest she went on the album also)

Krystal's high note was better than I would expect from her actually tbh xD Not that it was good tho lol

Viuctoria, Amber and Sulli are.... probably a little better? I think their voices are louder live than it used to be, and their stability improved, but yeah still bad lol

Oh I just remembered Luna, Krystal and Amber do some pretty bad E3's in Airplane if u want to know. It was like Amber/Krystal>>>>>>>Luna tho 'cuz Luna was whispering and they were talking(?) so yea LOL

Late but did any of youse hear Tiffany during the Taiwan concert  :unimpressed:

It's okay

Were the F#5s better than Jessica or Taeyeon's? (I know SNSD has been discussed to death.  Sorry guys.)

Where are the E3s in Airplane?  I didn't really listen to Airplane, I think it's okay.  The part where they go "airplanes.  love.  come with me." totally ruins the flow of the song... :omgwtf:

Yes Luna's F#5's were quite ok compared to majority of other kpop vocalists attempts

0:25, 0:40 and 1:50 ( I love this song BTW lol)

Could someone judge After School's Jung Ah's high note for me. It starts at 2:30 and ends arounds 2:45. To me, it sounds horribly thin and incredibly strained, just checking with the professionals though... And can anyone rank Jung Ah in SNSD, is she around Sooyoung's level?

2:29* And yes, they're terrible lol

And amogst SNSD I'd say Sooyoung's high notes are less strained, but based on AS ballads and other performances i've listened to, JungAh has a better stability than SNSD dancers

like do you have a list or video collection of k-idols who never or barely strain their voices to reach high notes?

I'm sorry if I'm asking for an impossbile thing. just u can just tell me u don't have it lol /sorry

I think I never heard YeonJi and KyuHyun straining, if they did it was probably 2 or 3 times lol

When analyzing a kpop idol's vocals, are mr removed videos relevant and/or useful? I watch them and always think they make voices sound weird. Do you guys watch them to determine an idol's vocal abilities?

To analyze technique it is pretty useless 98% of the time actually... kpop idols' vocal flaws are pretty obvious even with the backtrack LOL

2 Questions!

I have seen you guys rank Bom as the worst vocalists in kpop. But how bad is she, like below Yoona, Sohee, Hyuna? Or better?

Second, is Kyuhyun the male Ailee, I've seen several different and conflicting opinions. So if it is Kyuhyun, can someone explain why?

Yes, she's below all this three u mentioned and basically below almost EVERYONE in kpop just because she can't connect her notes, her breathing technique (if she has one actually) sucks ass. There some people on her level tho, Hara and a girl from Co-ed that covered Taeyeon's Deullinayo (I think her name is Hyewon) for example.

Yes Kyuhyun is the "male Ailee". Best male vocalist in kpop. Resonant very often, freedom/ease in his upper belts (all other males start struggling around the B4 area if I'm not mistaken), he's very consistent, rarely strains or goes tense, etc...

WOW. I'm surprised. But at the same time I'm not LOL so... Sohee, Hyuna they are super bad?

Being better or not than Bom they'r still bad xD I rememeber Chung saying Hyuna does one C5 in Bubble Pop which is (even though still mediocre) better than any Minzy ever did. And Minzy is better than Bom lol

I looked up what I could find and I watched 6 performances of Luna on IS2. The points I can make are, she has a beautiful head voice, very easily accessed and with a lot of freedom and resonance, her stability has most certainly improved and her articulation seemed for the most part fine. My problem with her on it was, she has some intonation issues, occasional here and there. She is not agile vocally and should not attempt many vocal runs cuz every single one she attempted was off. Her lower register was mostly quiet and breathy for effect I believe...her musicality was for the most part good since it followed the music and she did her thing and did well taking into consideration her age. My bigger problem is she has this terrible tendency to place her vowel sound inward as opposed to forward..so although some notes are executed without strain, they're not open, round and full like Taeyeon's. Taeyeon's overall about as stable and in terms of intonation and agility, I wouldn't put her above Luna, head voice Luna kills. Now when it comes to an overall delivery, Taeyeon's stability still somewhat better overall because of how well placed her sound is throughout her performance not to mention consistency, mostly within one single performance. Throughout the months of immortal song, Luna still has the tendency to get throaty and lose tonality. I compared one performance of Taeyeon which I believe to be her best, Lost In Love, against all of Luna's. Even Taeyeon's not good Eb5 was better than Luna's upper belts around the D5 ~ E5 area, Luna has the tendency to place her sound inward and the higher she goes, the more inward and therefore throaty it becomes.. her F5's are really not good usually, very very screechy and strangled, not as husky as Hyorin's though, which are still somewhat fuller. So as for keeping her tonality above Taeyeon, she did not show that on IS2 at all. Only thing she had going for her here was head voice, everything else, some was even with Taeyeon, some was somewhat worse. So overall yes Luna has improved but I still say Taeyeon > Luna because of the reasons I listed here. Feel free to correct me, I don't see stability as a big of a problem as it was, it's more of the way she places her sound inward as opposed to forward that really bothers me the most.

Honestly, honestly I know Luna has a big problem with her placement, but her high notes in IS2 were not as "inward" or as medíocre as you're making it seem... I also think if Luna was to sing Lost In Love she would be slayed by Tae's version, but Luna's D5-E5 belts are not worse than hers lol I don't really think Tae could handle the clímax of One Thousand Days tho... I don't know how to feel about Tae vs Luna anymore >_<

I watched all 6 performances, even her supported C5's and C#5's were not as forward and well placed as they coulda been. But they were fine to me, just above that she showed undeniable tension, she even dared going up to very very screechy F5's or E5's, I didn't really check. No I doubt she'd slay Taeyeon, her placement isn't as round and full throughout her range as Taeyeon from what I've heard, so those C5's wouldn't have been as yknow epic... Actually you saying slay should kinda stop... u say slay as if Luna were Ailee, my first thought when listening to her was wow how much better Ailee is than she is. So I doubt she'd be able to do anything close to slaying Taeyeon.. I never said they were worse, the ones she did in IS2 were worse, overall she has shown that she can support her upper belts more consistently than Taeyeon. Up until E5, only. What climax in One Thousand Days? You think what she did was hard?

BRB checking the notes.

K so the C5's I hear so far in ë™í–‰ she had good C5s but meh D5's, in 고연히 with Amber, 1 or 2 okay D5's, everything else above that meh, terrible F5 there, got super throaty on the climax, nice B4s tho. 알수없어 bad Eb5, iffy D5 in 바보, another one which wasnt bad, iffy E5, the One Thousand Days.. C5 was good, C#5 not as good, her placement during the whole of the climax wasn't even like full, round and open, it was kinda like growly? I find it hard to explain..some C#5's were okay, one was bad, very very throaty Eb5, iffy af run after that Eb5, it was very yknow intense and aside from her sorta idk what placement, she did support and handle the climax well so I see what U mean, I'd be interested to see how Taeyeon would handle that. I love Ailee's face at the end, she was loving it <3 She's so beautiful~~ ANYWAY.

U misread what I said LOL

well I didn't like the song itself that much but it seemed fine.. lemme listen...the E5 was a slid up note, it wasn't bad flat really... 2:44 yes it was flat and she fixed it.. lol

Oh oh I did misread the Taeyeon Lost In Love thing gurl, sorry for that.. lol but everything else...nope, I made my points.. lol anyway Hyorin > Taeyeon > Eunji > Luna imo

you misread and overreacted u.u But I apologize you =p

So I can't watch the other videos, but I remember the Eb5 in OTD and to me it sounded like she was just tired of all the belting, I mean the note was bad but if it had been before all those high notes I think she would have done fine =/

And there's that final belt in The day the sun rises which I rly like =D
