Hello just wanna ask regarding this performance..  :)

What can you say about their overall performance (just ignore those parts were they forgot the lyrics and stuff ) ?

How did they do vocal wise?

How about Ryeowook's part during 2:58-3:06 and also Kyuhyun's part during 3:15-3:23?

i don't have any knowledge about this vocals stuff  so i hope u can help me

It was a nice performance overall. Ryeowook did well and so did Kyuhyun. They were singing healthily. Too bad Kyuhyun didn't belt those C5s like in the studio version though.

In EXo who would you guys say are the best between Chen, Luhan, Baekhyun and D.O? I'll try to guess (but please answer me LOL)

D.O > Chen... Hm. Yeah. Not sure who to put next...

It's safe to say D.O/Chen > Baekhyun > Luhan.

Luhan needs to work on his breath support basically and same for the others.

She's not. Celine is nasal and very often throaty and tense... Celine gets extremely nasal above Eb5, below that she's resonated but most of the times she's just somewhat supported or just tense... she's got her style and whatnot and her voice is good but she's not as good as Tier 1 vocalists and definitely not anywhere near Whitney/Mariah level

The current Celine has improved on her lower notes and mid-belts (the mixing improved). Also, that F#5 was nice.

I'm going to correct you, but when I get on my laptop lol

She actually went airy a couple of times even on some of the belts and lines not in a stylistic way either, but she kept a tone on most of the belts and lines, she also had some pretty apparent throatiness on the sustained Run Away with the Bb4-C#5, whatever it is, but sometimes it was just a little bit of throatiness, not a whole bunch. Placing her around MinKyung is too high lol, YeRin is not OK, she's mediocre. JiMin is around the Jessica/SeoHyun line, and YeRin is less than JiMin by abit(Not like a TaeYeon Jessica gap, but a gap), YeRin I would say is around the Sunny/Yoo Ara/SoYu line.

Why is nasility bad? It can just be part of your tone. Like x person is also nasal when talking normally why is it bad and not just considered part of his/her tone if he's nasal when singing also?

Nasality happens when a lot of the air flows in the nasal cavity, so it isn't part of your tone. It isn't unhealthy, but some people find it bad and unpleasant because it gives you a thin sound and it doesn't contribute to producing resonance/power.

Drew: "That was before." Me (in head): "Before he made his nose crooked." LOLOLOL

wait so before what? I mean overall he was still overall resonant on his G4's, G#4's and A4's...not all but some.. like in that high note video, I'd place him in Tier 2, except Idk how he sounds now cuz DBSK > JYJ music wise.

Exactly. JK.

You need to look up his recent material. He hasn't been doing very well vocally.

.....Mid-high register..my instant thought Eb5/E5....but...that's for girls...so for a guy would be like G4/A4...? LOL

I'm assuming actually. LOL Since Josias had placed Jaejoong and Changmin in the male chart draft as lower Tier 2 both, and that high note video showed that yes Jaejoong has resonant moments, I believe Changmin must as well. I dunno any myself LOL I'm pretty sure he has though... unless Josias placed him too high...

I've watched his vocal range video along with his high notes compilation videos and none of his mid-notes were properly supported, much less resonant.

did you mean "weren't?" I was speaking off by memory, thank you~ I'd say at least in his middle to high area, he has had supported moments

No, I meant ''were''. //None// of his belted notes were properly supported.

Actually, watching it again, there's one or two decent notes from him. But the rest were all just tense. Ofc that is only based on this video.

YES, I thought she resonant at that part as well. I think i'm slowly telling the difference

can you tell me the difference between singing with an open throat and resonant?

Chen

2:30

Taemin

3:10

they were both singing with an open throat  but it doesn't really sound different than resonant

I think it was more at 1:30 in the first video that he opened his throat instead of 2:30 lol. I agree, it doesn't sound much different. When you're resonant, you are most definitely singing with an open-throat. But when you are only singing with an open-throat, the note you're producing could still be better (technically speaking, you can still adjust your vocal tract better and improve the sound).
