omg. I'm still watching but if this bitch hit Bb5 in this song (Already showed some head notes) then omg. u guys know what this means right? :hurr: This is better than taeyeon's overall, her head voice isn't very agile...but omg her accent is thicker. Damn Busan. LOL Okay so nice opened notes. Belted F5's. Eb5's. E5 AND OMG FUCK YEAH SHE HAS A Bb5. HER RANG EIS OFFICIALLY C#3 ~ Bb5 FUCK YEAH. HER RANGE IS DOABLE NOW. (she might be able to go higher tho)

Though I've been thinking for a future video, I wanted to do a guy for a change..LOL

GOOSHHH I NEED TO WATCH IT!!! @___________@

oh yeah, Taeyeon covered Run to you back in 2008 iirc, was she already decent around that time?

is this good?

:( missing her DJing days

This was.... the verses and the 2 first choruses are decent (with the exception of that "Tell me what does it mean" part), but the there between the bridge and 3rd chorus she was trying hard to make the song to its climax, and failed. She switched to falsetto because se couldn't handle the notes anymore then. I'd say ok for a kpop cover, but since it's a Whitney song, I shud say overall... mediocre-bad? lol

didn't she resonate the C#5 in Baby Baby then?

Yes she did. She was already ok during that 2007-2009 part of her career, but a looot more inconsistent then she's now..

She's more inconsistent now? did I get it right

NO LOL She was WAY MORE inconsistent back then XD For example, she used to have trouble with Genie's C#5 (got tense to hit them and they were not always on pitch), now however she is resonant on them all the time and hits them like nothing.

I feel like if she is given the chance to showcase her vocal talent on the right platform where vocal techniques matter most e.g. Immortal Song etc, she'd actually prove that she has improved substantially. This demonstrated by her resonant E5 in O holy night :/

Well... Lost In Love was made for her to showcase her vocal sand she totally salyed all those C5s and hit a very mediocre Eb5 tho =/

I don't know if this question has ever been asked, but can any of you guys give me your opinions on Sojin of Girl's Day voice?

I'm /sort/ of able to understand things like resonance and pitch, but I was wondering about how well her resonance is and how would you guys classify her as a singer? Is she awful, okay, good? Examples of her singing are below :)

one of her pre-debut vids from 3 years ago

most recent performance:

She's not as bad as Minah, but .... yea that's it =/

whats the difference between melisma and vibrato?

this may be a stupid question  :._.: but ik so little about singing

Melisma is basically a vocal run., like when you do a sequence of connected notes. And vibrato is that "vibrating sound" on a sustained note

0:16 is vibrato and 0:57 is a melisma

really? I thought it was Hyorin... I mean though that Hyorin best high notes video makes me wanna agree tho

Are u shading my vid? Go there and find better notes then if u can. But you can't 'cuz those ARE her best notes, most of them were resonant/open-throat or decent, it's your lazy ears' fault if u can't notice it =p Also, I doubt you watch as many performances of Sistar or SNSD as me to say you think Hyorin is resonant more often then Taeyeon or Hyorin has better notes than those.

eh, really? coz I don't really hear it from her

out of the 4, who resonates more often?

Among the four Taeyeon has the best placement and achieves resonance the most often.

Oh so she did this again.. I used an E5 and a G#3 on my video, from the last time she did this. oh and jsuk mr. sass, she was resonant a lot more often in this, her resonance is present in her lower register too, just not on sustained notes ^ ^ I wish she sang this song for real.  OMG SHE CHANGED THE LAST Bb4 (@3:01) to a C5 ~ Bb4 thing, beautiful! <3 Too many words that's why..and she resonated yes on that last E5, which I used on my video, but the difference in this one is the lyrics

Oh I know there were more resonant parts, it's just that those 3 ones were the "high notes" which is mostly what people care about here lol That E5 was awesome I wish I had used that one in my E5 battle >.>

1st. Class Decent-Jea, bada. Resonant, raises soft palate up until E5 I think.

kongwee said Ock Joohyun is the same level as bada so she's 1st class decent then, but I think she's good. FORGIVE ME!!!!!!

JeA got pretty inconsistent recently, she used to be good, but now she's more or less on Hyorin's level (and this one might surpass her soon if not already did it). She strains everything past D5 if I remember correctly. She has nasality issues also.

Ock JooHyun>>>>>>>>> Bada. We can't be sure on how good Bada is yet, but to be safe I'd say she's around Lina's level

lol oh well can you at least tell me what note she's consistent up to

She is almost always resonant. Consistent belting till G5 (never heard she going higher, if she did she can probably mantain ease and power higher). Uses a connected pure head voice, very developed and resonant, gone up to C#6 ( never heard she going higher either, but with the ease and freedom she hit that note i'm sure she can).

so waaaait is ock joohyun the best veteran idol vocalist?

Yes! As far as I'm aware lol
