Why wouldn't they? Their larynx still maintains stable. However they are off key so regardless it'd still sound bad...

^It's a slim chance of people resonating in an offkey note. Pitch problems are also related to support, so I do not think they are gonna resonate.

Actually not slim. Pitch has some things to do with support, Josias is right. The only way you can go sharp is by excess of air pressure against the vocal cords, causing the pitch they're producing to go sharp, if it's not too much though, you can still retain a resonant sound... same for going flat, you can still be resonant even if you're flat, flat isn't always a support thing, it can also be muscle memory. Your vocal cords are used to hitting the note under pitch so even if it's comfortable for you, if you're not sensitive to it, you'll always hit it under pitch even if it's free and relaxed, unless you think about it and raise the pitch to be more centered.

But still the pitch correcting mics thing is bs. lol

does exo k/m's vocalists beat shinee's?

if you compare onew, taemin and jonghyun against chen, kyungsoo, baekhyun and _________?

feel free to push this question back on ur list of "to answers"

i know it's hard not to roll your eyes so far back and into your skull and into infinity.

:(

as far as I remember EXO goes smth like D.O. > Chen > Lay(?) > Baekhyun > Luhan or smth like that, in that scale, onew would be like around the Chen/Lay area, whereas Jonghyun and Taemin would be above D.O.

Lemme rephrase: Some pitch problems are related to improper support. Improper support means no resonance. Pitch problems means no resonance. Ofc I know, it also has to do with bad hearing and muscle memories. But in Kpop especially, pitch problems are mainly due to support problems and bad hearing, therefore they are not gonna resonate. Whitney was a brilliant vocalist, using her as an example is kinda moot to the point here. I'd like to hear someone from IS2 resonating while going offkey. Srsly we are talking about IS2 and Kpop here. Not world class vocalists. Anyway I do agree with Josias as well, but about IS2 idols... I do not agree, idols cannot resonate and be flat/sharp, they do not have it in them.

Yeah it is. Because some of them still have intonation issues.

Really? I always thought she was kinda decent predebut and then it started getting worse over time

She was bad, pre-debut. Then she became horrible over time.

Kim Tae Woo at 4:17. I think he resonated, then went off key (can't tell whether it's because he lost resonance), then pushed himself to resonate again. Would this be what you would use to prove your point?

He "resonated", but he cannot sustain the pitch, he went flat holding the note.

he didnt go off key, he just went flat/under pitch, he was resonant at first and then lost some support then kinda brought it back up...that note was confusing.

oh dang. I thought being flat or sharp would constitute being offkey. I guess you have to be a whole semitone off to be called offkey?

No. Offkey would be when the note he hits is not in the key. Like singing F when trying to hit F# in G major is offkey whereas hitting E when trying to hit the F# in the same key is flat but not offkey. Also a slight pitch deviation is not considered offkey but rather flat or sharp, like hitting somewhere between F and F# is flat but not offkey.

Who's vocals do you guys prefer?

Bada or Ock Joohyun

Ock Joohyun was really good in her musicals, but Bada's performances in IS2 really give insight.

I prefer Bada, but since you guys are better at determining who is better, I wanted to ask you guys.

Depending on songs. I like this Bada clip cos her voice suit the favour of that song.

Even though you tried to play with words it back, that list is still null and void, even if they were ranking on these people being singers they were probably doing it based on Emotions, which is 100% subjective, if they truly were ranking them on being singers they would do it based on musicianship, which Ailee would be #1.

Honestly In that ranking, Hyorin shouldnt even be in top 5.Ailee, Bada and Ock Juyeon should be up there. I would keep Taeyyeon there as number 5 though (cos im biased). Raina shouldnt even be in top 10 cos Jessica and Gain are better than her, Heck I can believe Jessica isnt in that list. Bom, Gyuri and Taeyang shouldnt be in that list OMG. Luna and Sunye should be above Eunji. If niel is in that list, Taemin should too.

the problems in this list is too damn high. :omgwtf:

Also, How does Sohyang compare to them two?
