Stable is the least a professional vocalist should be, it shouldn't be praised. It should be expected. Also the people shitting on Twice, I'm not a twice fan but come on. Yes their non-main and non-lead vocalists are quite unskilled, but literally every other group out there minus their main and lead vocalists is just as unskilled so there's no reason to make a big deal about it. It's just different degrees of weak vocalists, but they're all weak. Like being stable and then not being stable...literally every weak vocalist is that way. I think people usually use "stable" as praise when an idol is singing and dancing at the same time, because well, singing with a stable voice while dancing energetically to choreography can be quite challenging, and it can throw your breathing off by a lot. BTS is not a vocally oriented group so it'd be unrealistic to expect them to vocally skilled in anyway, when that's not even the point of their music. We can also agree that Jungkook, Jin and Jimin are weak or at least closer to weak than to average. Now it's unfair to compare V and Jungkook directly without considering their voice types. V is far from a skilled vocalist but he's got something that no other member of BTS has, a consistent sense of support. Now let's go into the technicalities. V is a baritone which puts him at least a major or minor third below Jungkook in terms of his vocal bridges, meaning his voice is a few notes lower than Jungkook. So of course, within the same range, Jungkook will have much more ease simply because he has a higher voice. Now if you make them both sing a simple song and give Jungkook the tenor key, while giving V, the baritone key, you'd notice how within the C3 ~ D4 range V would do much better than Jungkook within the E3 ~ F#4, which would be more or less the same place within their respective voices. This is simply because V supports better and his overall breathing (not while dancing) is better than any other member of BTS. Having said that, neither of them are stellar vocalists either way, it's just V can manage breath support which puts him ahead of every other member by default. I am not sure what V's lowest note so far is but I know that upper falsetto or head voice wise, V can strain higher than Jungkook. I've heard Jungkook hit either A5 or Bb5, while V hit C6. As a baritone, I'm sure V can at least hit G2 or lower so technically, V's range is wider. That itself has nothing to do vocal skill cause having more notes to strain means nothing. Jungkook can definitely mix higher than V but again that's because he's a tenor so mixing higher is almost natural to him. A baritone mixing C5 is less common/natural although not impossible or necessarily too hard to do. I understand this is very sudden and almost random, but it's happening and it's for the best. It's not because of anyone or any thing it's just it's time for me to part. Edit: Idk how to embed tweets. this was actually really painful for me to watch because taehyung is one of my ultimate biases and im also a baritone like he is. i think you actually mean F5 and G5? because that's what he was... "hitting" i think. its sad that he feels like he has to sing that high - i think he hasnt really realized that he's a baritone and just thinks that he has a more deep-set voice than the other members. bighit needs to stop making him sing lines meant for a tenor. his solo could have sounded so much better if it was just lowered a few keys (or maybe even a whole octave) to match his natural range. unfortunate. Did you see their performance of blood weat & tears at the gaon awards? Jimin cracked at the start of all his parts >.< it was so sad to watch catch coz i read an article that he said he is so frustrated coz he keeps trying to improve his singing but nothing happens. Saying that means she sings D5 correctly 100% of the time without fail..and that's not really true..so it's safer to have it as "C#5/D5" because it allows room for error, y'know? There are times that TaeYeon messes up C#5 so it's cool. but im pretty sure that even for the singers that we do list as supporting up to D5, they wont sing it correctly 100% of the time... nobody is perfect i think a more fair way to consider it is maybe a 70% success rate or an 80% success rate. not even sohyang sings everything 100% all the time Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
