So nice.

that was one of her best C5/Bb4s right? and Eb5 was really heady but it was mixed in such a way that she wouldnt strain that much on it :O although she's become a "smarter" vocalist now, i think while in snsd, particularly around her debut years, she was less afraid to take risks (which isnt always a bad thing) and had more confidence, and i think that really affected how she chose to sing. this is just a theory, but... i think over the years, taeyeon kept getting so much spotlight and buzz that she felt overshadowed by her, and didnt try as hard as she used to. she eventually found her own niche as a singer, but i miss the days where she and taeyeon would both belt out songs like "into the new world" and "girls' generation" together, without inhibition.

probably a better live performance :) and also a splash of musicality from our queen throughout!!!!! all those extra ad libs!

QUEEN OF MUSICALITY.

Does anyone know the last time Lina, actually had a public performance?

i think she's done like, at least 6 musicals after she left CSJH, and she really only stopped afetr she got married about a year ago. so she's been doing public performances on stage up until then~

You beat me to it!!!! I was about to post it.

How did she do overall? specially with musicianship? Thank you!!!

im not really the best one around these parts to answer a question like this, but while we wait for a more professional response, i can say that she was pretty consistent with the studio recording of the song and our current understanding of her level of technique :D her breathing is nice and her pitch was nice, she was on key for the whole performance and i didnt catch any off notes. musicality and musicianship cant really be judged that much, but the way she changed the melody and the ad libs that she added all matched the song and the performance :D so i think it was good too. QUEEN :')

Thanks!!! I have enjoyed this version so much. The best so far, to me. Btw, also was going to post how she messed up Fly´s high note but got busy with life. lol I hope she has a coach...kind of losing hope with her but is it too late for her to improve?

i think she's been improving slowly but steadily from debut until now, and of course there's still time to improve! im not sure if she has a vocal coach though

I just knew a guy who speaks around F#2, the chances of him being a baritone is like 100%, right?

F#2????? what if he's like, a bass :O or maybe he's just a super low baritone... because i mean, i thought i was a low baritone, but i usually speak around C3-E3 LOL

F#2 is a bit...

damn and you're lower placed than me.

lol yeah i think we talked about this before XD i think you're a high baritone

edit: okay nvm i just talked over a piano and i speak E3-G3 LOL so i mean F#2 is just.. really low to be speaking at

people tell me i speak a little too high pitched sometimes. I theyre just talking about my inflections and im just like

Hoe im a baritone. I legit can imitate hwanhee into wanted to. When i feel friendly (which is almost all the time) i speak a little higher naturally with high inflections because i think i come across as friendly much better

But i dont think talking range is always correlated to voice type. I mean i feel like a lot of korean tenors speak at my range and some speak a tad lower i think

im deceased

Also I apparently speak in a way that I am 1000000% of the time assumed to be a woman whether over the phone or in person lol. I couldn't care less, but I've been told that when I "try to speak like a guy" I sound like a lesbian and I'm not particularly happy with that either

This ^^^ When i was younger and my bother used to talk on the phone, people would say "Is that you sister in the background"?

It happened to me in the past lol

wait a minute. so you're meaning to tell me that ALL 4 of you guys speak like... like "girls"? :o LOL i dont think ive ever been mistaken for a girl lol

i just realized i probably have the deepest voice out of everyone in this thread ._.

I don't think anyone else currently still gets mistaken for that. And that really is just my speaking voice lol. My singing voice is quite not that. Inb4 depressed larynx/tongue and pulling chest this whole time to sound thicker/darker

[spoiler]

omg i just noticed this now but you live in etobicoke???? o-omo..... we're close ish :O actually we're pretty close LOL GTA FTW!!! wait is etobicoke part of the GTA

Okay I think this might be one of Jessica's best performances. Many moments of non nasality. But OMG the guy singing in the back sounds like Anthony LMAO.

I think for a whole 11 seconds Jessica was non nasal other than that nasal vowel and the falsetto from 1:32-1:43. She just doesnt sound very nasal. A lot more opened.
I feel like Jessica here sounds more opened than her usual
Are the B4s at 0:56, 1:10, 1:38-1:42, 2:15 2:27 non nasal?
at 1:57 The C#5, the quality is like the C5 at the acoustic version, like it was okay right?
at 1:58 the note doesnt sound like her usual falsetto, is it head voice?

LOOOL WHAT

do I really sound like that D: TT_TT OTL

but YAAASSS ALL THESE PERFORMANCES
you basically asked all the questions I wanted to know lol

Her love me the same perf was legendary

Help guys I'm in a dilemma. I've made "okay"(shit) sounding covers of songs before, but I've never really posted anything. They're never really perfect, so I always delete and redo them. I remember last year, I recorded Halo ~50-60 times (the entire song) and I still never posted anything or felt confident to share with anyone, so I deleted it because I thought all of the recordings were horrible. It kinda sucks cause I'm joining show choir at my school next year and I need to have confidence in my vocals otherwise my stage presence will suffer. What do I do?

believe in yourself !
