Official Vocals thread (READ OP FIRST)

Bad techniques hurts their vocal cords.

The 2nd sentence doesn't make sense. How does bad vocal techniques relates to the production of a song?

I have argue a lot time in this thread. Anything say in the OP is final, but to me I have different viewsl. What you thought is a bad technique, it is a fine to many professional and industry in general. Do you really think 2NE1 got hurt the way they sing?

Even if you think their vocals are good enough for recording, it doesn't mean that their technique is good. They'll still hurt themselves with bad technique.

Couldn't it have been their songs and how they presented themselves rather than how they sang that got them fans?

Do you ever see a 2NE1 fan vocal instructor sing the 2NE1 did? Also you see Blackjacks alway try to imitate  2NE1 singing..

When did a vocal instructor sing the way 2NE1 did? Show me please? I would think that a real vocal instructor would still sing with good technique.

It's not like you have to like their singing to want to cover their songs. They have some pretty good songs.

Not everyone knows about healthy singing and so a lot of people sing however they think is "okay" for them.

It is my friend, she don't do youtube. Of cos, she sing with good pitching , rhythm ....etc with 2NE1 tone. She only sing like that when she fangirling alone or with her friends.

About "healthy" singing you need to find out yourself, especially in Kpop. If you are vocalist or learning, you need to understand why people keep singing like this. You really know tons of kpop idols singing is rated very low in this thread.

Hi  guys, how is IU as a vocalist? Where would you place her compared to other female idols?

She's mediocre - I'm pretty sure she's better than Jessica. She's nasal, she does OK in her comfort zone, she has no lower register, she uses falsetto, and her three high notes are whiny and strained.

Pitch, rhythm, dynamic and consistency. This is what they can do. "Supported note, belt, open throat .....etc" not gonna happen

Of course the way that the girls in 2NE1 sing has hurt them. Before 2NE1 debuted, Bom was bad, now she's horrendous. She's literally destroyed her vocal cords and cannot even connect her notes together. Once again, Kongwee, you have proved you know next to nothing about vocal technique, and you use your "knowledge" of the music industry to back up your false points. Please, leave this thread.

Ignore this kongwee comments from now on, as you can see he's a joke, don't take his comments seriously, if you imitate how Bom sang her signature E5 and F5, you'll realize it hurts your vocal cords.

he also said kpop idols are rated very low in this thread didn't make any sense either because tons of western singers got the same treatment here, only some of them got the praise. the same applies to korean vocalists lol, only some of them got the praise.

whether we like them or not has nothing to do with vocal techniques. even some of us stan mediocre vocalists lol.

Both of you just wanna argue with me. You guys know nothing happen in the industry outside classroom. You just lock yourself to your own belief and practice. Backing by "vocal-pedagogy" to make yourself glorified and passing misconception to reader here. Also I do not know about Bom singing, I only generalized 2NE1 as a whole not individual. Unless you show me clip, I wouldn't understand anything.

I do not care who you argued with. You do not know 2NE1 themselves. Have you heard Bom pre debut? Have you heard her now? There's a big difference.

What I think is a bad technique? It's not what I think. To me, I do not even care about techniques when liking music. Doesn't mean there's no bad techniques. It's a given that 2NE1 uses bad techniques.

Predebut don't mean a thing. What important is after debuting. I don't like her singing, does that mean I will follow you guys and give bad rating. No way. It doesn't work you guys dictating. Well Bom or 2NE1 is not gonna change how they sing. They only need to work to refine what they whatever they are doing. 2NE1 "bad technique" don't hurt themselves that good enough. Their voice doesn't degrade over course of time. They only get refine or better tone. In other perceptive, why labeled bad techniques when it doesn't hurt?

First of all, predebut - bad to current - horrendous shows how much bad techniques damages singing. Secondly, who the hell told you I don't like 2NE1's singing?

Gawd I can't even with the stupidity of yours. First you create pointless arguments in the akp vocal thread and now here. Your pointless stupid arguments are gonna be ignored from now on, so don't even bother replying to me.

Geez. Of course bad techniques hurt, why do you think Xtina sounds like she shitting a building?!

Why do you think Bom sounds like a corks been shoved up her throat?

Bad techniques hurt a lot. And if you keep using one then your voice will ultimately be butchered.

Who is Xtina? And how you know Bom hurt? She alway been singing in that tone/technique for entire career. It is only clearer and brighter over time.

Christina Aguliera

See this is the point. Bom HAS NOT been singing in that tone/technique for her entire carreer. She has gotten worse over the years.

I'm sorry no it hasn't cleared or brightened over time, it's got worse.

haha..... I said earlier they need to work on pitch, rhythm, dynamic.... The only thing I do not agree with is they way they sing were not hurt them.  Again resonate term is completely misuse here. They are singing and they are not resonating? Who that person define that......
