all this talk makes me sad I can't mix an A4 without shouting lmao. (tenor) That's what I get for not making any effort to train </3

Better than me lol. I give up and just start using head voice at A4 most of the time. I'm a tenor too!!! Yaassss finally found another tenor, what's your range Edited by BabyKBK

Im sure im super late to this and it has been brought up before but wtf this is a guy lmao. Tiffany wishes she could mix that easily in the 5th octave LOL (loljk love u tiffany <3 )

He's just a tenor singing in a feminine manner right?

WTF JUST STUMBLED ACROSS This. He honestly reminds me A LOT OF MY SINGING. I wonder what his speaking voice is like.

Same omg, i also cant mix at all, above F#4 is crack (sometimes i get lucky up until A4 my highest mix shouting), idk if im a baritone/tenor, my friends always tell me im a tenor because my light (?) tone, but my higher notes/mix is bad. i can go down to E2/F2 but that's with lowering my larynx, my comfort is only until ~ Bb2. as for my upper register idk if i use head voice/falsetto, but i can go up until 6th octave if it still singing lol, its detoriated a lot compared to 2-3 years ago though :rlytearpls:

Boiii how do you even get down to E2? I'm a tenor and I can only get down to a C3, mabye a B2 if I try really hard but I won't cause I want my voice to live to. If you experience a crack above F#4 then it's probably falsetto, cause when I use head my voice doesn't crack, it should feel like it goes on without much of a flip unless your mix is super chesty(at least for me that's what it feels like). Does your notes beyond your mix get more airy and sound kinda weak/frail? If so then it's falsetto cause Head Voice sounds pure and full

.My range deteriorated so much omg, since I waved goodbye forever to my falsetto for health reasons and only use head voice now, it stops at F5. Send some singing clips!!! Many people here are music experts.

you should send a clip /s to ahmin or K! Maybe the can help you figure out haha. I remember pre-puberty though i, my voice could really go up there lmao

I can go down to F2 i think haha

lololol I wasnt expecting it tbh like i had it in my head it was a girl

How F2 skjdkdhssh. You can still tell it's a guy from the way he mixes on the F4s lol. It's just his timbre is a bit lighter but still has some masculine qualities . Tbh I've yet to hear a guy sound exactly like a female, even countertenors don't sound female to me at least. I guess since I have a more ambiguous tone as well it's easy for me to identify lol. I'm sure you can LOL. Not sure if I can hit E2, but it seems I cant haha. I don't pay attention at all  it is fun to binge watch performances of Tears though

Just out of curiosity, you are a tenor right???? And what's your normal talking pitch? Mine is around a G#3 but it can be into the 4th octave sometimes or down to like F3 depending on what I'm saying and how excited I am lol. Edited by BabyKBK

I "might" be a lower tenor than you and I speak consistently from C4~F4 lol speaking voice isn't exactly the best determiner of anything really. Countertenor is still very much a male voice is what the thread concluded at last time we discussed it, so

The only way to determine which one of us is higher is by sending video clips. I want that high tenor supreme title so bad

And yes countertenor ofc is male but I was just saying some people think it sounds female but I think it sounds very masculine lol.

You sound really cute :chu:  You single? :imstupid:

Feel free to have the title if you are :dave:  I just want to find the absolute closest, highly skilled vocalist I can emulate because I have this bad habit to try and copy the singer I'm listening to :ohpressor:

All by myself had A5s :derp: ? At the end of the night, I tried to sing Sohyang's Dream :imstupid:  The recording has been delet already

Omg I freakin accidentally though of another song. The highest was F5 but still for me mixing that high is like...

I gave up copying singers a long time ago. My timbre doesn't really match my favs. If I could copy I'd copy beyonce for her technique, I wish I could just scan her technique and download it like a file sometimes.

all right whatever. I may regret this later. Here is me singing. These are both old bc I don't like singing in my apartment now bc too many people can hear me lol.

The first is me singing a tenor musical theater song bc as I said before, musical theater tenors are basically mezzo sopranos. I'm using a youtube karaoke track like a champion.

The second is even older because it's from a recital. This is the Nurse's Song from Benjamin Britten's song cycle 'A Charm of Lullabies'. This is live from an old recital, and I had just performed the entire cycle and closed out the concert which I did with my tenor friend. =)

Slayyyyyyyvgurllllll slayy. I don't know many mezzos so your voice sounds extra fresh to me lol.

Dude, you don't even know. I love performing on the stage, but the applause is amazing. Why? Because you're done and heart can stop being in your throat. Same with an standing ovation those are also pretty nice. Why? Because again your set is over and you can leave the stage lol.

I feel the sams for piano lol. Those eisteddfods got me going through mood swings like..... hopefully one day I can perform not just as a pianist but as a singer too

On a side note, how do you guys keep your mouth closed while sleeping????i have a bad habit of keeping my mouth wide open sometimes during sleep and it really dries my throat in the morning.

Literally, the best part about performing is bowing and leaving the stage LOL

How? I mean..you really can't control that lol. It just happens.I just make sure my mouth is closed when I go to sleep. No mouth breathing.

I try so hardddd, I don't go in opening my mouth, it just happens. Edited by BabyKBK

I don't know what this is...

But anyway..I came to the conclusion it won't get any better LOL so here:

http://vocaroo.com/i/s0zqOwHJv3Qi

My vibrato betrayed me on the last note

I was getting really into it. I turned down the mic volume a lot because the mic being up and me being loud caused a bunch of feedback. SO headphones lol.

Omg why did I imagine you as a girl???? I force my vibrato sometimes, a horrible habit. Are you a baritone??? Imao so many baritones here XD most of my school friends are tenors so it's strange here. Has anyone here ever met a bass?? I've never met one I wonder how rare they are... Edited by BabyKBK

Try Dope imstupid.png

No but, what about Gone Not Around Any Longer? Or if you want to sing one of your faves' songs then Up & Down or Every Night, they're nice.

Mabye in a few days lol,rn I'm getting really tense on C5 and above since I'm so tired. I sounded a bit throaty on my last recording so it's probably time for safety vocal rest.

It was a bit over two and a half years ago - I was 17. It was part of my scholarship application  for Uni - I got it but had to turn it down, although I have no idea why they decided to give it to me tbh, maybe my aural and theory skills saved me :P

Dayum. What's your range btw and do you use falsetto?, I'm curious about your range since you're a soprano.

BST! Always love me a breathy ass BTS bop

:twitch:

There's a problem with that tho, I can only use Head Voice not falsetto XD(ahmin thinks it's curious also) Get ready for a heady BTS BOp.

My range is Eb3 to E6-ish (I haven't pushed the boundary past E6 because there isn't a lot of point tbh) I use falsetto mostly stylistically, but it's actually harder for me to use falsetto than head voice nowadays. My mix goes up to an E5, but on days where I warm up with my tutor I can comfortably do an F5.

Oh that's also all me, like, not screaming and stuff. I did too much of that when I was 13-14 and I honestly hate putting my voice through that now haha

Mine is consistently C3-F5( I don't like pushing) but I can produce some inconsistent out of the blue notes in the 6th octave when in good condition.I lost G5-C6 after I forgot to use my falsetto(idk how, my falsetto disappeared as soon as I learnt Head Voice) and I haven't rediscovered it idk why. That thing with losing falsetto notes once you learn head voice is quite common, you should gain them back as your head voice develops more

Gurllll how long will I have to wait tfutuyfgg. So far I can connect my head to mix quite easy and keep it pure and strong in sound. I thought my vocal cord was broken or something so I saw a doctor and they put a stick down my throat. It turned out I was fine so I thought I was crazy.

Yeah, I watched the video when it came out. It's still kinda lost on me. Like I took classes in pedagogy, and we were never told there was a falsetto register for women. So, I'm trying to reconcile that lol. To me, the light, airy higher register for women is the head voice. The 'sharper' higher sound is either a mixed register for lower voices (like earlier someone mentioned my head voice, but I consider everything in my recording to be a mix and not pure head) or a well developed pure head register for sopranos. It's all the same register but being utilized and resonated differently (if that makes sense). But like I've said in this thread a few times, it has been a while since I took actual instruction on any of these things.

Whenever I get back on the voice lessons train, I'll revisit this thought. lol

You're classically trained right?? My classical friends didn't know either. More contemporary music teachers talk about falsetto for women. It's quite easy to identify if you google a bit.

Boi you just work on that head voice and the register connections - head voice is love, head voice is life.

For something unrelated a few years ago, I actually had a doctor look at my vocal chords with a camera. It was super whacky to actually watch them move to make sound when I spoke.

!!!! They did that to me too. Do you go to the vocal doctor often?? I heard mick jagger sees one like every week or something lol. Mabye I should try....
