I guess she'd be the most reliable indicator of how JYP's vocal training is shaping up (considering all the recent girls weren't home-grown... oh, I guess there was JJProject....) XD It's just that after you knock out the main vocal of each group (all being pretty even), in SNSD there's Jessica and Seohyun who are mediocre, vs. the other groups with only one at-best-mediocre vocalist.... Some great vocalists like Ock Joohyun and Big Mama, but then here in the US? Lady Gaga is capable/good it varies... But what if the song's style is supposed to be sultry, soft, and sexy, and the artist uses an airy voice to fit in with the mood of the song. Do you criticize their technique for that? Well, people who are airy on purpose can produce solid tones, people who are not cannot produce solid tones. Also, people who use airiness as a style usually sound a lot more controlled than someone who is just airy because they lack proper chord closure. I think it irritates more than it damages, though I do think excessive use of it can damage your chords, falsetto isn't really healthy, because y'know it's airy lol.
