I love still the one and in this moment but I don't know if she's a mezzo

me too! but yeah i dont know if she's actually a mezzo or if she just sings in a really low-mid range all the time lol

but her voice seems to have the weight of a mezzo so i was just wondering xD

Oh no dear, honestly when I first started learning to sing I didn't even know we sang notes! A friend played a note on the piano and told me to sing it, and I stared at her like what do you mean? lol So you're fine! Try this test!

also i dont want to keep spamming this thread bc im sure most of u dont really care but this is something i recorded a while back that u might like ^^

over time i realized that less is more so im trying to keep editing to a minimum xD before i used to try to use effects to hide flaws in my technique but i think it really takes away from my tone and id rather my vocal colour come through despite problems i might have

It definitely wasn't because I did one where I accidentally pressed a key before I had properly heard a few of the tones, and I got 29th percentile on 3.96Hz or something.

I'm confused now on the graph the arrow was at 17, so what does that mean.

So like if you're at the 99th percentile for example, you're better than 99% of people. If you're at the 17th, you're better than 17% of people. Tbh at the level this test is at, it doesn't make much of a difference musically. It's better to do a tone-deafness test.

The good thing about this test is knowing that you have a perception of pitch.

Tbh it just gives me traumatic flashbacks to aural dictation in high school because we used to do it for hours on end before end-of-year exams. It almost made me want to never hear anything ever again, if only I wouldn't have to dictate anything either.

This was also the same teacher that made everybody who was noisy, disruptive or didn't pay attention in class listen to gregorian chant on full blast for all of lunchtime, although I was exempt from all of those because I was top student both years I had her.

I'm quite nervous about following this thread and actually posting comments here ( IDK why XD) but I feel like I should at least make myself known lol.

Hi~ Im new to this whole site in general but I do love vocals and it has fascinated me for years. I don't have the means to actually study it but researching the internet is the best I could do (because Google can be the best teacher) and I'm sure that this thread, along with the blog is the most accurate. I hope I'll learn more from here^^.

I would give you guys my name...but I do recognize one of you guys. I wonder if you could remember (or guess) who I am, Ahmin lol.

Yuju hasn't been belting a lot and GFRIEND was on Immortal Song so she had to carry the group and be back to her extra self haha, 3:20 and 4:09 to 4:41

Can anyone tell me about these? Pretty sure the mid belts were okay but idk about the high ones

3:23 ~ 3:30 B4 to A4 to Bb4, all resonant and then a jump up to Eb5. That wasn't a slight push, that was just simply strained.
4:12 ~ 4:18 strained Eb5 to E5, very pushed with a high larynx.
4:27 Not unsupported, but the Oh vowel is really closing her throat on the C#5's. 4:35 strained E5's. It's just air pressure, it's strain, it's a high larynx.
