4:04 is sounded flat

She is bad.

So, basically she's below Sunny, strains a lot to.

Bad. She screams all her high notes and loves to go up to F5s nd such when she can't even belt a C5 decently

who is better minah or the other vocalist in girls day? soljin or sojin i think is the name

Hyorin voice is already husky, it doesn't matter.

Too bad only Sistar can perform in IS2. :hurr:

anyone know why idol groups randomly appear on IS2?

Ask them. Anyway IS2 is initially for idols..

the C5 before the Eb5 @3:29 wasn't bad, I'm not sure if she went throaty on purpose but me no likey. Oh the 4:04 was a harmony D5 and F5, Soyu's D5 was surprisingly not bad for her, the F5 tho.. Nobody was flat tho and 4:20 got throaty at the end, but the performance was fun :D lol  vocally it wasn't that interesting tho

It is not a screaming tone.

Minah is still the best.

Pop is has no restriction how you use larynx.

lol ok ok w/e u say

Doesn't matter, they should still make efforts to sing with a non Nasalized tone and with a neutral larynx. Minah has no business going up to F5.

shhh just let it go girl.

She is not that kind of singer. It's not that she is not capable. She just doesn't feel the need to belt higher then that or sustain notes which are that high. It's more of a stylistic choice.

The belting above G5 tends to be done mostly by Gospel singers anyway.  Heance why Aretha and Patti more willingly go up into that tessitura.

About BRIGHT Shino

You know I stan them so and have all their material. :p

The best singer of the group is a toss up between Nanaka and and Nagi.

Nanaka has the better head placement. But Nagi has the better middle voice.

Nagi belted her ass off here.

Your welcome......im kinda pissed they disbanded this year.....Im hoping at least Nanaka releases Solo material

I'd like to know everyone's opinions on Baekhyun D:

He's one of my motivations and I like his style of singing.

It's just that er I'm inexperienced and not really knowledgeable as much as some people here in critiquing technique.

I think his highest note is a mixed F#5 in their performance of Mirotic? People say it was Changmin but they could just have a similar tone in their higher ranges. He hit an F5 in What is Love live anyways, and several live E5's in Wolf, so its believable to me.

Can anyone give any opinions on everything else about Baek's vocals?

(This is my favourite clip)

(And I like this cover too even though his high notes aren't very resonant here... start listening @1:45)

He is nasal of course and he is mediocre

he has poor breath support hence why you can hear him breathing heavily in the second performance

he also loves to belt in the upper range, which causes him to strain alot

I'm not being rude or anything, but I don't think he should be your inspiration because he's mediocre and struggles a lot. His style is also similar to YSS.

Baekhyun has a lot of technical issues, he's incredibly nasal and he doesn't hold his jaw in the correct position at lot of the time causing tension in this throat. He has problems with his diction causing air to be trapped in his front teeth. His breath support his rather weak which is why he gasps a lot during performances. His intonation needs work and he strains a lot because he likes to belt in his upper range. I consider him to be the Tiffany of EXO, I foresee him getting vocal nodules in the future if he continues using this far from decent vocal technique.

He has never achieved resonance. Recently EXO went on a TV show, I forgot the name. D.O.'s highest note there was F5 in head voice, C5 in mix, it wasn't as strained as Baekhyun. D.O. > Baekhyun. But Baekhyun can keep straining his way up his range, up to F#5, he did it on that show twice. Head voice he hit a heady mix C#6 with a hell lotta strain lol Chen hit Bb5 heady mix and E5 in mix and ...Xiumin hit C#6 in a very nice head voice, i mean yknow. strained but it wasn't a scream lol ANYWAY. As Akisame said, Baekhyun's voice is lovely.

As you are you and not him, looking up to him because of his vocal tone isn't a very smart because that's his birth thing, you can't change your tone to his really. So technique wise, don't try and copy him. On the second clip you posted, he sang Bb4 and Chen Bb4, at one point, like towards the climax, and they were both strained. D.O. sang C5 and didn't strain as much as them, on a note which is higher so yknow.I mean all 3 strained, but D.O. is less lol Also Baekhyun was pitchy due to I think bad support. For really styling, if you like how he sings, that's cool, just try to not strain or copy his bad bread support and whatnot. His voice lovely, but it's how not the best way to use it. As Aki said, Tiffany. lol I used to love Tiffany's singing, and I still do but I never try to copy her way cuz I'm like woops nope lol wrong girl, stop that. lol

If you wanna look up to someone for their vocal technique, not music, nor tone, the ones I like to look up to are G.O. and Kyuhyun for males and Ailee for females.
