@Tsabarfound a new material for Swan so I thought I’d share.

There’s some nice C5’s but she also has that messy vowels + pushing issue here and there. Seems like there’s some development on her head-voice and I think I heard a not bad G#3. What do y’all think?

@ZRH23 do you mind looking at it ? the C5s are the thing I am interested about the most in this cover ...

how did you came to that conclusion O.o ? the clips you posted are rather falsetto than head voice .....you can't push E5/F5 when the support is absent even below that

I think that this video made ppl think she have some head voice

@ZRH23 @ParkHyoLee The Yona video is ready. I tried to use as much recent material as I could and worked on it quite a lot so I hope its alright. Sadly I didn't find many C#5s, recent ones especially ...  Do correct me if I am wrong with the pitch and feel free to watch and say what you think.

@ZRH23    @Tsabar

I think it's time to have a discussion on Wheein's current consistent supported range.

Here are some more clips of her in 2019:

2:44-2:52 some 4th octave notes 2:53 sustained G#4-A4-C5, 3:12 B4.

0:14 B4/C5, 1:07-1:11 phrased Bb4s.

1:41, 1:50 C#5, 4:28 C#5/D5 (?), 4:30 C5, 4:33 D5, 4:48-4:51 C5s-Eb5s, 4:53 C5-D5.

so basically this vietnamese facebook page claimed that Lily M supported most her C#5s in this finesse cover lol except the one at 1:37 so her and Haewon are the best vocal line in 4th gen

They are not very off I guess but its still quite inaccurate and annoying : /

They're not mutually exclusive. Hyorin can carry support till E5, but has issues with tightness and pushing in the throat, the tendency comes with her sustained notes especially since the tension kicks in pretty quick. And her vowels could be much better in general, I haven't really heard any clean open notes from her in a while, even in the 4th octave.

So where would you place her in the competent area ? And how about those notes ?

1:24

1:19-1:40, 3:14

Why that clip lol ....she not doing great there

It sounded to me like she tries more on the Bb4/B4s but she does sound tiered there

I'd still put her in the P to G area I think. The E5s are still there usually but it's not very optimal really so I'd say she's the bottom end of the tier. Uji's newer notes up to E5 are way cleaner so far.

Like Baz said, those notes aren't that great. She does sound like she's putting more effort but there's pushing and overall, I'd say Taeyeon's mid belts are>> in comparison.

So Hyolyn's "meh approach" is less worse than Minhye's "meh approach" and thats why she does get P-G ? or is it the E5 that matter when rating them ?

is this ranking right or wrong? i think its right

It have some things that are right and some things that are off, I can expend on that if you want. My criticism is that having so many lower tiers isn't needed, some F singers aren't even that different from some of the D singers. Also some of the strengths and weakness feels forced or are inaccurate, there are some off placements and wrong supported ranges as well obviously.

@ZRH23I am interested in what you think about the ranking on 2:50-3:20, Swan's place specifically.

hyolyn has better coordination than both minhye and dia

2:23 never heard similar vowels from the other two

6:56 same things with those D5s and Eb5s ...even with pushing she carry support up F5 , basically at her best days she's ahead of many P lol

She sound nice on those ! thanks for answering

i never heard of her lol is she a new addition or something ....there's some mistakes in notes like @0:33 all the clip those are bb3s .@0:56 lol same thing Bb3 she hit unsupported quick G#3s after ,@1:52 an A4 , @3:13 that B4 ( here she surprisingly sounds very taeyeon tone wise )@3:25 that was supposed to be B4 but she's flat @3:34 that a B4, @3:42 oh god those are C5s , @4:04 that a Bb4  ....the clip after is a C5  , @4:36 how that an A4 LMAO that C5 (i'm done i'm sorry )

anyways she sounds quite nice is some clips like the UR cover( the phrased C#5s weren't that bad) wasn't that an audition clip for a show or something ? she's around yuri ish , her mid range isn't that soft or light ( like sunny or chaehyun )i would say she carry support up B4/C5 but there's some  inconsistencies with both support and pitch

Thanks for answering, she is 3rd as far as I understand, thats honestly better than I thought, I wasn't sure about some of those belts.

no 2018/2019 is >> 2014

Oh really ? wasn't she really nice on some mid belts in 2014 ? like here 1:51, 2:31, 4:11, 5:45 sound nice to me but idk Hyolyn in 2018/2019 that well...

edit: Oh you are talking about her as an overall vocalist not just her belts ? if yes can I ask what made her better in 2018/2019 ?

Without support and have great control?control of what lol ?can give an example for both cases? Not to be mean but  It too much of an anime theory Without an irl logic I'm sorry ....I personally have never heard a singer who has both *absence of support and a real agility showcase*

They gave an example in their last comment Zara Larson, I don't know her well.

I am not sure if she can't support at all, she doesn't seem to be that shaky and choppy but it isn't an indication.

0:53 Bb4s are okay ?

3:18 Idk about this Bb4
