@Tsabar

For an interesting listen

You can hear even pre-regression Wheein has less full support than both Solji and Solar. I'm not sure Wheein was better than Minkyung either at her peak tbh

I think that I can hear it, still seems like she was more of a high AA than.

Are you guys aware of Minseo? She's a soloist and I'm thinking she may be an average?

I saw her for the first time on the ReggieVu video, I didn't listen to a lot of her stuff but I would personally place her above the higher part of average (Suhyun/Dawon/Winter etc) so A-AA seem fitting.

This video is accordingly to CTV vocal technique definition which means that this video is accurate from a vocal pedagogy view, this is not based on the misleading definition kpopanalysis which's definition is widespread on youtube despite being innacurate, so any hate or false comment would be deleted, we only speak with facts here, so if you don't agree i don't think this video is for you, it's better to leave without unneccessary arguments unless you do it kindly!

🤷‍♂️to be fair they do have voice scientists studying these things, it is unwise to simply trust one guy (the blog) who does not use any real science and consistent logic who tells you something is "objective" based on their personal preferences and very limited experience/senses with different sounds/coordinations. And by "they" I mean the CVT institute itself, not this one random youtuber who simply claims to be using CVT methods and keeps calling it "CTV". What the hell is CTV, that's Canadian television network.

Oh yeah I agree I didn't say that it isn't valid and I won't be confident saying so when I barley know about the actual CVT, its just that this channel specifically give certain vocalists too much credit for bright light notes much higher than what they can handle.

New song from Lee Young Hyun, she start belting towards the 2nd half of the song.

There is nothing new to notice as far as I can tell, some of the belts are kinda light and it isn't very unusual for her in terms of range.

I really enjoy listening song performances from Ben, but these days she sounds more like A - AA

Her projection is very limited (the background music is literally swallowing her at some parts)

3:16 light, tight C#5s with very little support, not very strong notes in the fourth octave

3:40 not that good A4, it's supported but not strong

Actually she sounds the same throughout so I won't do timestamping, but overall she sounds closer to A - AA than any other rating.

I searched for some more stuff, seems like she can still keep a relatively more projected output up to B4 sometimes and her phrased C5/C#5s are still decent, maybe she is Kei's level ? or tied with Hwasa on low AA ?

Can you link the videos? I don't follow her often but I came across the video and was unimpressed.

I'd say at most she's barely in AA but if she sound tight and unprojected like that consistent enough, then A-AA.

3:32 relaxed phrased C#5, 3:43 this one is also ok. (its from 2020 though maybe she was better then)

1:20-1:35 B4-C#5 she is singing with more chest (or just with more connection) on some of those she is tight occasionally but not bad.

2:17-2:26 light C#5s are tight but passable I guess, 4:38 onward some of the C#5s are passable.

So I discovered this 4th gen idol while searching for Forsake performances, how good is she ? her mid range is less small and nasal than some other new vocalist but she sound more tight and pushed when belting.

She start belting around 1:20

But listening to the clip more, Hwasa sounds so tired? The last video especially she sounds super congested and it's grainy.

It isn't unusual for her, even during their debut era she had moments like that.

WJSN because they have Dawon and Yeonjung and Id say Dawon is stronger than Sejeong. The other vocalists are alright, pretty shallow. IOI is there too because they have Sejeong and Yeonjung, but Dawon is stronger than Sejeong.

Izone only has Yuri (+Eunbi, Yena, Chaewon which are pretty much shallow, Eunbi sounds weaker and less supported than on PD48), Oh My girl has the strongest vocalist of the bunch, Seunghee, but Hyojung, the lead, is pretty much shallow. Twice has Jihyo, who is a higher A and Nayeon/Jeongyeon, which are W-A.

Dawon is average Sejeong is stronger than her, Seunghee had some questionable moments in her recent performances I won't rank her high in A-AA so idk if she is the strongest out of them, and Jeongyeon is still passable as average ? or maybe I am wrong.

Maybe she's just a high Average after all. Not sure. Thoughts?

It isn't about her C5s only like you suggest I will say that she is still better than Suhyun who is high A... (but maybe I am wrong)

Dawon has supported C5s before and Sejeong and Dawon are pretty similar level wise anyways, so I agree with that.

Dawon's C5s are mostly not supported and she is not on a similar level to Sejeong, this Reggie Vu video you are basing it off wasn't the most accurate.

Seunghee is inconsistent nowadays, but I wouldnt put Sejeong above her just yet. Her studio C#5s sounded good and her inconsistent moments were only recently.

(You know that she is just A-AA, right ?) Its not just small inconsistencies, she always had troubles with C5s and sometimes B4s and C#5s are really not something she have consistently or at all yet.
