I have no problem with emotional aspect of Kyuhyun's singing (i agree tho, he kinda lacks expression on stage).

My biggest concern about his singing is...his voice quality has changed? Call me crazy, but i feel his voice became more nasal and somewhat higher, compared to 3/4 years ago    But i feel it only happens in Korean songs, when he sings in Mandarin he sounds deeper and richer.

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

KyuHyun is not nasal. His soft palate is raised like all the time.

Hmm okay, maybe "nasal" isn't the right word :p What i mean is his voice was more "crystal clear" and richer. Now, sometimes he sounds like he has stuffed nose (idk the better word lol) in belting notes, esp. in letters b,p,n,m.

Example: 2:28, 3:13

That actually isn't unheard of, some people as the age their singing voices may actually get higher. TaeYeon and Jessica's singing voices are actually brighter and lighter than they were before.

Park Hyo Shin too, right? I wonder why. I thought your voice gets deeper with age.

Hun, that is because those are nasal sounds XD Go Bee,Pi,Mmm,Nnn and you'll feel vibrations near your nose XD It is impossible to do it without a nasal sound.

Well, your talking voice and your singing voice are actually very different. It has to do with mixing and placing or something.

But...there are a lot of singers that sound less nasal than Kyu on those letters :D I think Kyuhyun himself sounded less nasal on those nasal letters a few years ago..that's why it becomes my issue.

sorry~ I was gonna let someone answer, I guess I'll do it myself lol The song is beautiful~ <3 they transition nicely into head voice for me... The two on the sides can get quite nasal, I didn't really hear straining, but I heard the nasality, I think the one on the left wasn't nasal towards the end tho at his higher part. The one in the middle is without a doubt the best, better rounder tone, full transition and good head voice and just overall more controlled and skilled. He was resonant I believe, but then again the echo coulda thrown me off..

Thank you ^^

Yes i also think the middle guy is the best, but the rest aren't far behind. How would you rank them in global scale?

*Is nasality part of Japanese singing style? Because i hear a lot of Jap singers sound nasally.

@akisame:

Thanks. How would you rate Luna's perf: OK, decent or good?

About Park Bom's voice:

You guys said that one of the Bom's weaknesses is her inability to connect her notes, right?

But isn't it her selling point? I mean, the "staccato" thingy (idk the better word :p) makes her voice unique, lol.

probably because he never leaves his comfort zone~ The highest note is a D#4. Which is pretty low, considering how he's belted like E5s and all that. The problem is his lower notes.

Hmm maybe. I agree tho, his low notes seem non-existent, lol. And i think there's tempo problem as well.

Oh and about the Eunji x Yoseob duet VS the Hyorin x K.Will duet the Hyorin one is better because K.Will is much better than Yoseob.

The K.Will and HyoRin performance was. Though both HyoRin's and EunJi's E5s were decent.

Thanks!!

I also think Hyorin & K.Will duet is better, but mainly because K.Will > Yoseob (technique, tone). Yoseob isn't bad, but his voice doesn't really suit the song, imo.
