There's too many people who try to say troll things to fit their own motive and exaggerate their faves through the use of vocal hyperboles. Kinda like how some Ariana fans claim she has resonance and ease in the D5-G5 range.... I think we all know Yuju is more vocally competent. She has one resonant F5 but hasn't produced it again. She's basically just super inconsistent but she's at least above average or above average-competent. A high larynx is not going to be resonant no matter how much reverb you add to it. Tightness, throatiness, w.e tension, thinness, vowel shaping can still be heard through reverb. It's possible to have some form of tension and still be resonant, example lots of pop singing, but it's back to being able to hear what they're doing to produce sound and if what the sound system is giving off matches. King of masked singer is notorious for having some intense reverb, so here's an example with Hyerin from Exid singing If I Leave (still love ha just she needs lessons lol) . @1:23 someone who isn't too familiar with vocals in general might go "Wow her singing is ringing she must be good", but we can still hear the tightness, the poor vowel shaping, the nasality, etc. that we know that the note isn't being produced well even if the sound system is trying to mask everything Here's Eunji singing the same song. @3:39 this clip also has reverb added to it, but you can still hear how little constriction there is compared to Hyerin's B4, the less small vowel shaping, etc, so we know it's resonant Thank you so much for this. I kind of already get the basic idea plus I can identify if they are using reverb to mask strain but I'm still confused at notes that are resonant but with reverb.
