Why do international kpop fans (unless you are Japanese/Chinese) have elevated sense of self-importance

I think everybody does.

It's just that international fans = english speaking countries, I think we're just able to understand their whining and bashing. But I feel if we were Japanese, Chinese or Korean, we'd all see the same.

Also Western peeps feel they're important because they 'went all the way to asia-side for their idols' when they could have stanned an artist closer to them.

More countries, more touring, more money IMO. Visibility helps - at least it propelled BTS to a top group?

And, has anything as yet shown that SEA and rest of world buys negligle physicals and digitals compared to KJC?

I could see that in the sense that many many fans really do think that they contribute more than they actually do. Unless you're buying tickets to concerts, buying physical albums, buying on iTunes or streaming constantly (barely with this one), you don't really mean much to entertainment companies

Everything else (YT views, social media responses, polls) is just Hallyu Wave bragging rights for the individual company unless your fanbase is so massive that attention converts into the 3 things I mentioned. Most of the time, it does not because most KPOP fans generally don't buy physical/digital albums.
