Chinese action superstar Jackie Chan expressed his views earlier this week regarding the current situation between East Asian superpowers China and Japan. He believes that tense relations “do more harm than good,†and that neighboring countries “should have friendly relations.â€

More than just being an actor who starred in several Hollywood blockbusters, Chan is also a member of a political advisory body of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), together with basketball star Yao Ming and Nobel laureate Mo Yan. The organization works with the ruling Communist Party and other relevant groups to deal with issues that China is facing in areas like the arts, sports, science and economics. During the organization’s meeting last Wednesday, he was interviewed by a major Japanese newspaper and asked about his opinions on the current dispute between the two countries. He said that if hostilities worsen, it would not be good for either of them and could also harm the entire region.

However, Chan says, "despite the current diplomatic tensions, the cultural relations between China and Japan have grown and will eventually contribute to the economic well-being of both countries. He also believes that as both sides deepen their understanding of each other’s culture through things like film, this will lead to a more peaceful climate, despite the differences they are currently experiencing."

well no shit

whoever thinks hostility's a good thing

Arms manufacturers do.

Lockheed Martin($36 Billion)

Boeing ($27.6 Billion)

BAE Systems ($26.8 Billion)

Raytheon ($22.5 Billion)

General Dynamics($20.9 Billion)

Yearly income off selling military weapons. That's just the top-5, the list goes longer. Of course all but BAE are US based companies, but they benefit from instability in the world and also don't just sell to the US as they manufacture and sell weapons to approved countries.

I dont know how to feel whenever he say idealistic things like this. he said ‘he just did something that every man do‘ when he cheated his wife and abandoned his illegitimate daughter. this doesnt seem idealistic to me..
