nah, not being married and having kids is strange to me. However i can understand it if its because of the cost and time consumption for a wedding and shit.

It's what the people around me thinking, that not being married and having kids is strange. In my opinion, the wedding itself is never a problem since people these days skips wedding ceremony, but the problem comes within the marriage itself. Many of my peers are divorced with kids. Getting married with kids also very expensive. Some of my peers decides to not have any kids because they want to enjoy their life and they are happy with that.

My aunts always feel strange when they heard about people who is not married, when their own marriage is like a living hell, so I don't understand why they press marriage to somebody else when they're not happy with it

for some, it's important because it gives legitimate rights to the couple. for example, and this is allegedly a true story, an unmarried same-sex couple had an accident, and one of them became terminally injured. since they weren't married, the other one had no right to visit the injured one in the hospital, make important decisions, etc. also property rights and such.

marriage is much more than the wedding ceremony :)

I've been with my partner for over 5 years now and we don't plan on marrying (and kids) just yet. Idk, people keep asking about it, it's pretty annoying, because it's good the way it is. We're equals and our own people, and we're happy. I don't see why other people want to push us into it. It's our decision, isn't it?

The only reason for marriage in our case would probably for taxes, we already talked about that. But that's not rentable in our case and we don't really consider it just yet.

I think every couple should be able to decide for themselves without others judging them tbh. It's none of their business.

It sounds like an attempt to try to convince themselves being married doesn't define their happiness or something like that.

Personally I think marriage is needed because of the way society works although there's no need to stress yourself out if you're single or you're afraid to be alone.
