Depends what you mean by that , I think you can clearly be more attracted to a type of person , like it's my ideal type or something , but I guess you are like talking about no way I am going to date this or this type of person , I guess that is wrong since love is unexpected , and being stubborn will make you lose a lot of opportunities

Its okay to have a preference and it depends on where you live. If you were raised in a homogeneous society you might want to search for someone similar to you by nature and that's fine.

Not saying it applies to you, but some people have internalized some very racist ideas that set the foundation for what they find attractive

If you want to date say a Korean person because you know you get along with that race the best then go ahead

If you want to date a Korean because "ALL Koreans are hot and they can be my oppa" then you got a problem

I'm giving you an example with idols, some idols have said they like girls with pale skin i dont think this is racist because that just their preference but if they say they would never date someone with tan/dark skin because..*insert derogatory comment* of course that's wrong, i mean it's ok to have preference but it's not ok ifyou look down in people who don't match your preference

It's somewhat ingrained racism considering that your society has a great impact on attraction. If you live in a society that has a history of racism, do some hard introspection.

based on the definition of "racist" it's discrimination of other races, believing a particular race is superior

so based on that I think it might actually be racist to have a racial preference when dating

 

however usually it's not harmful as long as you don't outrightly say it: just keep it to yourself while looking for a dating partner

Human being cannot control what like; not for hobby, for job, for friend, for love, nothing. Bias can exist, racism can exist but most person preference not racism. What determine racism is intent; if you do not date for you find specific "race" inferior, dirty or anything bad, it is wrong. If you date specific "race" for think superior to other, it is wrong, it is racism for other "race". But if you have no reason of superior/inferior or good/bad for preference to date or not date, it is not wrong, it is simple truth you born with.

racial preference stems from some sort of racial bias; dont say you prefer to date people of xxxx race, rephrase that. say you find people of yyyy race ugly. or stinky, or whatever it is. simple as that. if you dont see how thats racist well

I've thought about this and honestly, yes it is racist. Saying you don't feel attracted to ANY man/woman of a particular race means you don't see them as actual people and see their skin first over their actual personalities.

 

I see this a lot with people I don't respect that much, for very disgusting reasons, like guys thinking every Latina is super sexual and 'spicy', thinking every Asian girl is docile and will let herself get dominated, thinking White girls are easy, or girls seeing black guys as animals with big dicks, or Asian guys as kpop fantasies, etc etc etc etc.....
