did you live on or off campus?

if you lived off campus did you stay in a goshiwon?

did you stay @ korea university?

if you studied at korea university, what was it like?

im planning to go to korea during spring 2018 and many have told me that korea university has like 2/3 housing places for international students so im looking at goshiwons just in case i don't get a spot

I'm studying abroad in Korea this Fall (2017) so I can make a thread for my travels when I leave if you'd like

Edit: I'll be living on-campus in dorms at Sogang University (not SKY but still very highly ranked in Korea)

Also, Dev Patel in your sig is beautiful

I haven't moved in yet but single dorms are definitely not common in Korean dorms, especially if your school already doesn't have enough housing for everyone you're going to need to share. Doubles are pretty much the norm. You should definitely check the bathrooms that your dorm has because that could be a real dealbreaker. Some Korean bathrooms have you shower over the toilet like an all-in-one that gets everything wet. Mine (thankfully) has a separate shower and toilet space but many don't.

I studied at Yonsei this past spring semester. I had a single dorm on campus. The dorms were first come first serve so I had to log onto the server a few minutes before we had to apply for housing (I know it would go quick) to select a single. Many people told me not to bother since it's really hard but if you have fast internet it shouldn't be a problem.

I loved my experience. Korea is awesome, and everyone is nice. The food is cheap, traveling around Asia is convenient, and you'll grow very close to the other exchange students.

I had a friend who lived in a goshiwon in Sinchon and it was cheaper, yet smaller.

PM me if you have any additional questions!

I studied in Keimyung last semester ( not in seoul, in daegu). I stayed in school's dormitory and it was not a very good experience for me. I had some friends who lived in apartments and they said it was cheaper to stay in off-campus. However, going to Korea for education was the best decision I made since the teachers were very helpful and lovely and it is a very beautiful country.
