I just typed nice wedding gift into Pinterest and it generated some cleaver, adorable, yet inexpensive ideas. Normally when I go to wedding there is one and then I check that thing and then I pick something and that's it! Most of the time the items are things to help them move to a new house, like furniture, kitchen stuff, dishes, etc. you know useful things to them as a couple.
