I hope the reviews get better I think people are mostly tired of seeing recycled drama plots. Even this one using the storyline of Bride of the Water God is just another typical drama... ricecake 730 Posted July 4, 2017 Share Posted July 4, 2017 & the manhwa was so good... i had my doubts when i saw the leading actors & actresses (i would've loved to see kang ha neul take his first lead role and the trailers seemed weirdly awk too) and then the period/location switch- the manhwa was serious epic fantasy and the drama seems to be a light romantic comedy... ah, will still watch the first episode anyways. yikes. yerinbunny 23 Posted July 4, 2017 Share Posted July 4, 2017 something i've realized is that there are no actual "bad" actors, just very awkward people. i think peoples real life personalities have a huge influence in the way their ability to portray characters on screen. nam joo hyuk isn't a bad actor, he's just naturally kind of stiff and chill and expressionless in real life, much like shin se kyung. actors like them act really well in only certain roles, like one's that require acting chic, cool, and aloof (since it's similar to their real life personality) Therefore the characters they're able to play are very limited. Even though SSK isn't like amazing but he look so baby-ish next to her. I'm not saying the drama is horseshit bad but it just meh. Would skip.... Hey man won't be surprised if it get popular... Really skilled actors can portray different type of characters irregardless of their personalities. Many good actors are actually introverts in real life, but on screen they can be comedic, extravagant etc; and the opposite applies.
