If When Yeonji gets into the group, do you all want her to be the leader? Since in my top 9 there's nobody older than her, (sorry Tasha, Haein, and Youngjoo, you're all almost in my top 9), she'd be the eldest but if that does end up happening (where she is the eldest) do you guys think she'd be a good leader?

 

Wow, that's a good question! I've never thought about that. (Too busy fretting over Yeonji just making the group ;-; ) I don't know what she'd be like as a leader, but it'd definitely be interesting to see. She's kind of a loose cannon and is a bit too honest (idk how many times Geonyoung facepalmed bc of things she's said/done LOL), but that's also what makes her so charming! ^^ If she were compared to another group's leader... Hmm who would she be most like??

 

Still don't know who the rest of my Top 9 are. Ideally, right now my Top 9 would include Haein and Yeonji. So, in that case, I think Yeonji would be a good candidate for second in command.

Can anyone explain the insane rise in views for Yeonji's Ep 1 cut??? The video currently has 11K views. Apparently Yeonji has a ton of fangirls in Taiwan and Thailand too LOL Can't wait to see what happens after this week's ep. airs. If we're lucky, Yeonji will become one of the trending girls!

...So much for that increase in screentime lol All the girls whose performances weren't aired were basically nonexistent -- which is kind of unfair because the groups who were shown in this ep. have a week-long advantage.

 

Yeonji's still stuck in 35th place (unofficially). At least she didn't drop down. Next week could be her last on the show... Praying for a miracle

Maybe it'll be a good thing Yeonji's group is next week because she'll have a lot of screentime and live voting is worth more than online :/

Hopefully ;__; I'm worried that because she hasn't had very much screentime at all, it might be a little late since voting takes place while the show is airing... 

 

she is not 23 she is still 22 technically...... I asked my Korean friend about this because I was curious about the korean age system and even if she is considered early 96 but it's mostly used as a way to address her, but Korean age is still the same as any 96 liner on paper. Let me give you and example jennie is also an early 96 liner but she is considered 22 in Korea whenever they mention their name on interview and her Korean profile she is still 22. 

Yeonji always states her Korean age as her current Western/real age + 2 years whenever she introduces herself.

For reference: Yeonji, as a '96 liner, is technically 2 years younger than Geonyoung (1994), but they're only 1 year apart Korean age-wise. Jiyun/Seoyeon/Yeonji are all '96 liners, but Yeonji is considered 1 year older than Seoyeon/Jiyun and their unnie. Their actual birthdays (YJ 1/3; SY 11/13; JY 12/26) are already far apart, Yeonji may as well be considered a '95 liner. (If you're wondering why Geonyoung/Jiyun/Seoyeon's real ages and Korean ages have a 2-year difference, too: their birthdays hadn't passed yet.)

 

Like Curlymckay mentioned, people who have birthdays that fall before the Lunar New Year (which typically takes place in late Jan./early Feb.) are usually considered a year older than those whose birthdays are later in the year. Basically, it really just depends on how a person wishes to count his/her age -- and since Yeonji says she's 23, her profile will also say 23 ^^

Yeah, just watched the ending. Apparently all of they'll still receive lessons and stuff? Maybe they'll have like a wild card candidate who can join the main group in the end. Anything is possible at this point... since Mnet seems to be making every thing up as they go lol I guess I feel a tiny bit less sad now ^^

 

 

It's kind of funny (and tragic) how Yeonji's goodbye was longer than all the actual total screen time she got on the show. Wonder how things would've turned out if she was selected to do the killing part...

- Snowbaby said Yeonji looks like a bunny (cue them trying to teach her Chinese haha)

- Fan asked, "Where is Natty?", so Yeonji said "Natty is in school... I miss everyone!"

Were any of you able to catch Yeonji's IG live (170807 around 9PM in Korea)? I had just woken up (I'm in the US) to get ready for work in this morning and saw the notification that 'Yeonji started broadcasting 6 minutes ago." Was about to start recording, but when I reopened IG, Yeonji ended the live! T^T

 

Who was the other girl with her? Seemed like it could have been Geonyoung but I'm not sure.

Yeonji just had an IG live this morning in Korea! It ended not too long ago. Thankfully, she enabled replays so it's possible to save the source video + source audio. I'm going to upload the whole thing on my Bloomy channel just in case it disappears. You can't read the comments people left (which is both a good and bad thing haha), but if you watch the replay through the app you can. Will try to rip the app version with comments tomorrow -- if the video is still up and my phone doesn't die after screen recording for an hour lol

Based on this particular person's posts, Yeonji seems to have been closest to Youngjoo/Jiwon/Sian/Sia/Seoyeon. I guess she bonded with the eliminated girls a lot more after they were sent home.

170904 Yeonji's Instagram Lives

Yeonji had 2 IG Lives last night. The first one took place at her house, between 5-6PM KST. Yeonji made it available for replay... but I guess IG only allows the most recent Live to be saved, so only the second one was available (it still might be up if you want to watch with comments).

 

Here a few things Yeonji mentioned during last night's first IG live (that I could remember):

• Her plan for the day: Eat dinner -- dalkbal/chicken feet & ramyun -- with her friends
• The topic specifically wanted to discuss for this IG Live was Jiwon's nickname, Megan (Apparently, Jiwon mentioned it somewhere and fans were curious to know why she's called Megan). Yeonji said at beginning of Idol School, when they all first met, Jiwon and Herin had a convo about their English names: Megan and (I don't remember what Herin's is T^T). Yeonji eventually said that her English name is BELLA, but didn't give an explanation on why she chose it. ///omg don't tell me it's because of Twilight LOL gonna call her BELLA YANG / YANG BELLA every chance I get now///
• Yeonji showed off her book collection. She loves reading! The book she's currently reading is 나는 떠났다 그리고 ìžìœ ë¥¼ 배웠다 (I Left and Learned Freedom) [Original Title: Das große Los / The Big Ticket] by German author Meike Winnemuth. I asked her what her favorite book is. She couldn't recall the exact title, but it was something about being in your 20's and it has a blue cover. She didn't know where she left it and couldn't find it in her room lol However, she said she used to read it all the time in high school.
• Right now, she really wants to travel; lots of her friends have been going on trips, so she's a bit envious. I asked her where she wants to go, and she said she wants to visit Taiwan first so that she can see Snowbaby. IIRC she mentioned that after Idol School, she and Youngjoo want to go on a trip together. Since everyone was listing where they were from, I told her to come to America -- Yeonji said she heard it was a lot of fun.
• Besides China, Yeonji's never gone abroad anywhere else. The only times she's ridden on a plane were on trips to Jeju Island and China (when BLOOMY had schedules). She'd love to travel, but she's very scared of when planes shake during extreme turbulence. K-fans suggested that she see different places around Korea so she'd get used to traveling. 
• K-fan asked her if she visits her DC Gallery (the "official thread" for Korean fans). Yeonji said she does check it.
• She talked about LoL for a bit. She uses Orianna Mid (?... No idea what that means. Maybe those of you who play LoL do though haha)

 

 

Wasn't able to stream the second/meokbang live, but it apparently happened at like 8/9PM KST.

Judging by some of Yeonji's posts, it seems like she might be tied to a company? After Idol School, there was a period of time when she was very active Instagram and had lives regularly. Now, she posts a lot less often. She also has changed her styling in recent months. I don't know if it's because she's a trainee or she's pursuing modeling?
