a K-pop group called ID-BeatIdentity is confirmed to be the opening performer of Soohyun's Japan FM on May 18 at 3:00pm KST. This group posted the news on its weibo today. Hmm, I wonder how's this FM different from the previous FMs.

EXCLUSIVE REPORT ABOUT KIM SOO HYUN'S LIFE IN SEOUL

In YWCFTS, Cheon Song Yi has a line which says she has a nickname called 'faucet', meaning whenever you turn on the TV you will see her unlimited CFs and dramas. In reality, this nickname belongs to Kim Soo Hyun. Our records have shown that Kim Soo Hyun has signed 16 CFs in the China region in just two months, earning over 10 millions in total. Last week our magazine reporter visited Seoul and obtained exclusive reports about his life over there, his advertisement and photoshoot locations. It looked like 'Manager Do' was extremely busy. His rumored earlier rental and recent purchased luxury homes were also exposed under our camera. The 26th year old Kim Soo Hyun is living a luxury life that's unmatched by any individuals in his age.

 

 

CF shooting in Seoul

6 hours low-key work

Our magazine has done some research within the entertainment industry early on and found that Kim Soo Hyun has become the most valuable Korean star in the Chinese market. After the extremely popular airing of YWCFTS, this super hot actor has also become the ambassador of some local Korean brands as well as international enterprises in the Chinese market. Many rich top executives are not shy to lure him with money in order to get his endorsement to support sales in such a huge market.

 

Last week our magazine has obtained Kim Soo Hyun's schedule from some Chinese fans, and we flew to Seoul to report his work there. According to an exclusive tip from a fan, Kim Soo Hyun was scheduled to have some filming job on May 14 at Sinsa Dong in Seoul.

 

Sinsa Dong is a ward of Gangnam-gu in Seoul, a famous and trendy fashion district. This 700m road is surrounded by ginkgo trees on each side. People call this road as “the road of artists†since it has a congenial atmosphere that is made of charming cafes and restaurants. In addition, many Korean celebrities visit this place as they can easily find unique or exotic clothing.

 

Based on fans' tips, our reporter had found a small studio close by. This photo studio was located inside main floor of a business building, where the normal looking tiny staircase which led to the studio was blocked. The entrance of the studio was a path small enough to fit only one car, led to cafes, coffee shops and small boutiques on the side. It was totally different from a huge upscale studio as originally thought. Our reporter arrived there at 6 a.m. on May 14, and was skeptical whether Kim Soo Hyun would indeed have his CF shooting at this location.

 

After 10 a.m., it was found to have some crew members arrive on scene, carrying filming equipment and props. One person brought a pile of ironed clothes to the studio while some brought coffee from the coffee shop closed by. Then a truck stopped in front, more crew members delivered more props. One background wall was full of notes which talked about reference about shooting angles and action moves. From there our reporter was able to pick out the Haagen Das English logo. Looked like this CF would be related to his recently announced endorsement contract with Haagen Das for the Chinese region.

 

Very soon after, a few female fans carried flowers to the studio entrance. Some crew members used DV camera to take note of these fans. Initially our reporter thought they would stayed at the door to wait for 'Manager Do' to arrive, but these fans were allowed to enter in the studio shortly after.

 

About 11 a.m., a luxury black Infiniti SUV which probably worth million Yuan, stopped in front of the studio while no other crew members were around. Two men came out of the car and quickly entered in the studio. The person in front looked to the right side briefly and went in. He looked like he was very familiar with the location. Yes, this man was Kim Soo Hyun. He only appeared in front of our reporter's eyes for less than 3 seconds. He was very fast and agile. According to some Korean media reports, Kim Soo Hyun would not forget about exercising amidst hectic schedule, and he was often spotted either jogging in a park closed to his apartment, or playing badminton in barefeet. He also visited bowling alley often. It looked like even though his work was overloaded, Kim Soo Hyun still managed his body condition in top shape.

After he entered in the studio, Kim Soo Hyun's crew members went outdoors for smoke breaks a few times during the 8 hour period, that included his manager, photographer, driver as well as assistant, and a stuntman whose back and side image looked very similar to Kim. As for Kim Soo Hyun himself, he was just like 'Manager Do' having superpowers, he didn't act like he needed to take any breaks at all. He stayed inside the enclosed basement the whole time, did not go out for meals nor did assistant bring him any food. Not sure if 'Manager Do' was already full by eating all the Haagen Das ice-cream during filming.

 

About 5 p.m. or so, Kim Soo Hyun finally finished his work. Crew members started to take away the equipment and bring them back to a white Hyundai car. Kim's manager casually wore his backpack and left. The driver moved the car to the front entrance of the studio and shortly after, Kim Soo Hyun, wearing a black blazer, black pants, sneakers with no socks, also appeared behind the driver who was carrying the flowers and bag. He did not wear any sunglasses, cap or mask to signify he was a celebrity. In fact he was low-key just like any normal person, quickly sneaked into the passenger's seat in the car without causing notice of passerby. He looked like he was in good mood after finishing work and he was smiling as he left the studio.

 

Yes. Both Kim Soo Hyun and his manager looked very handsome. His team members all possessed this Korean oppa's good looks. This is so not fair!

 

Two Luxury Residences Revealed

 

Resided in Seoul's Most Expensive Apartment

 

 

 

Kim Soo Hyun did not have any energy for other appointments after a full day of work; his luxury vehicle went directly to a basement of a luxury apartment in the Seoul Forest area. Hillstate Apartment, reported by Korean media a while ago, is Kim's rental apartment. It is comprised of three high rise condominiums. Seoul Forest is a large park in Seongdong-gu. It includes many new high rise condominiums and business buildings while conserving lots of green spaces.

 

 

 

Although Kim Soo Hyun belongs to an artistically talented family, in which his father, Kim Chung Hoon, was the lead singer of a group called the Seven Dolphins and his mother was a model, they were not considered rich before his fame. His family stayed in a regular monthly rented apartment for 20 years until after a few dramas prior to YWCFTS which leaded to increase in salary and CF, they then moved into this high end yearly lease home.

 

 

 

In Korea, yearly lease apartment is a type of rental which requires tenant to pay one full year of rental lease to the landlord up front, and the tenant only need to pay their own management and utilities fee. After one year if the lease is not continued, the landlord would return this entire lump sum of money back to the tenant, as the landlord often uses it for investment. Usually the cost of yearly lease is very high; it is equivalent to 800K to 1M Chinese Yuan. Therefore only rich people can afford these types of yearly lease rental. It was said when Kim Soo Hyun moved his family to this new apartment his mom was so moved that she cried, since it was her dream to be able to own their own property in Seoul.

 

 

 

Back to the time after Kim's car entered into his apartment. Thirty minutes after his car left the Hillstate apartment’s basement, it entered into another high-end high-rise mixed-use residential complex about 5 minutes after. This apartment is called Galleria Foret. It looked like a 5 star hotel. Korean media reports previously stated that Kim Soo Hyun purchased a condo unit for himself in the Seongdong area at a price of 4 billion Korean Won (about 24M Chinese Yuan) have been confirmed. This brand new high-rise condominium is a mixture of residential and commercial, located close to Seoul Forest, just like an oasis within a city. Street number 101 is high end business building surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants, whereas number 102, the building where Kim's car is parked, is a residential building with excellent concierge and security. Outside cars are not allowed to park inside the building.

 

 

 

According to source, Kim Soo Hyun's unit is 217.8 sq meter with skyline view. The unit is located above 20th floor at least, with excellent views of Seoul Forest and Han River, especially night views. It is shielded from paparazzi or any other disturbance. The most important consideration is that it is located very close to his parents' home with walkable distance. He can go to his parents' home for dinner after work and conveniently go back home afterward. According to Korean real estate sources, Galleria Foret is the top mixed-use residential complex in Korea, with the highest purchase price recorded. The lowest cost for a unit is at least 3 billion Korean Won, with the top floor costs at least 5 billion Korean Won, and its interior design materials all came from famous French architect. "Just like the previous Tower Palace's excellent privacy protection, this is the most expensive condominium in Korea without any risk of depreciation, thus many well known celebrities also purchase their homes here." According to source, Kim Soo Hyun also made a 1.6 billion Korean Won loan from bank (approx. 9M Chinese Yuan). His wealthy neighbours include Han Ye Seul, G-Dragon, as well as the founder of SM Entertainment, Lee Soo Man.

In order to afford living in the most expensive home in Korea, he has to put in his most effort in his work. After filming YWCFTS, Kim Soo Hyun has entered into nonstop work schedule, including fanmeets in different locations throughout Asia, commercial activities, CF filming, etc, occupying all of his time. He once joked, "At this moment, even if I have 10 bodies I still don't find it enough." His agency commented that right now he's even busier than his filming schedule, "In the morning he flies to overseas, and comes back in the evening. Then on the next day he will fly to another country. He has absolutely no time for other things right now."

 

 

 

According to Korean advertisement personnel, after YWCFTS ended, the total number of Kim Soo Hyun's CF contracts in Asia was about 35, and the total amount was about 30 billion Korean Won (approx. 150 million Chinese Yuan). Even his boss, Bae Yong Joon, did not receive that many CF contracts during the Hallyu (Korean Wave) Period when he was most famous in Japan. In spite of the fact that the CF invitations are like non-stop running water ("faucets"), Kim Soo Hyun's commercial status still maintained at top spot. According to Korean CM Strategic Institute's latest consumers' favorability survey ranking, Kim Soo Hyun's CF favorability category is sitting at top spot; his endorsed product Lemona's first quarter profits compared to last year's same quarter has increased by 442.24%. The brand's official commented that the increased sale was benefited from Kim Soo Hyun.

 

 

 

Kim Soo Hyun's fans were very worried about his health due to his two previous heart surgeries. Unfortunately Kim still continued his hectic work nonstop. According to Korean fans, the day before his Haagen Das CF filming, he was filming another CF. Kim Soo Hyun’s schedule indicated that he will attend 4 events in China by end of May. This includes Aokang shoes event on May 20 at Wenzhou, Haagen Das endorsement press conference on May 28 in Shanghai, Coca Cola event on May 29 in Shanghai, Lotte Department Store's opening ribbon cutting ceremony on May 31 in Shenyang. In between these events, he still has to fly to Japan on May 18, 19 for his fanmeet, as well as Paeksang Award ceremony on May 27 in Korea. This award ceremony is often considered "the Korean Oscar". This year he is nominated for few awards, Best TV Actor Award in You Who Came from the Stars, Best New Actor Award in Secretly Greatly, and Popularity Awards in both Movie and TV categories respectively. The public already has eyes on the possibility of him receiving both popularity awards at the same time.
