The timeslot could be an issue; but it seems to work for cable tv hit show so hopefully it means the same this. Also with the later airing time; this means they can be a bit more daring.

I think they are both the male leads (4 including GHJ and IU) + plus he is the main draw especially internationally. The fan wars on Soompi over who is the main lead are ridiculous though.

really? I don't think cha tae hyun and soo hyun should be compared. They're on different stages of their career... right? i only saw sassy girl so cha tae hyun is an old sunbae right?

 

I hope IU gets a serious/bratty role kkk. She's always the nice funny dorky girl.

it's probably because he is his senior that his fans want bragging rights - they think it's insulting if he isn't the main lead over "hallyu star" ksh . they were playing the "he's the lead. no he's the lead" game in the drama thread when it was announced. shit got real lol but it calmed down the last time i checked.

 

she's meant to be an ice princess top idol, so i'm anticipating some bitchy high maintenance character (with a soft heart of course ). i can just picture her screaming about how the lighting is not perfect and her torturing her poor assistant and manager.

Ohh. It was a bit confusing pooling soo hyun with a sunbae that does lead roles. I wished soo hyun wouldn't do this project when it was rumored. But I know he makes good drama decisions you who came from the stars is re-airing here in the phils haha.

 

And excited about IU as well, since it seems she's soo hyun's partner. Hoping she'd have a lil bit of cheon song yi haha.

I don't want to encourage anymore "The Stars" either, but coupling with Chun Song-Yi was the best Korean drama couple I've ever seen (second to that of the main couple in 'Summer Scent')

An official of KBS2 TV drama was talking about the realationship of the cast of "Producer" namely, Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin and IU who gathered together last March 23 for the first script reading somewhere in Southern Seoul.

The script was officially released on that first day and the officials were surprised with two  things: the proportion of Kim Soo Hyun's role and the quality of the script.

"Producer" which has attracted attention because of its stellar cast that includes Kim Soo Hyun, cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyon Jin, IU and Kim Jong Kook went to full fledge preparation during the script reading held last March 23. CP Seo Soo Min and writer Park Ji Eun have joined hands to work on the blockbuster show for the first half of the year.

And because of this, each of their moves is gaining hot interest. EVen the gathering for the script reading itself became an issue.

The officials saw the script that day and was surprised to see the proportion of KIm Soo Hyun's role. Of course since he is the leading actor, it's not absolutely a small amout, but the proportion of the roles of Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin and IU is 1:1:1:1. So it is evenly distributed."

The official continued, "After SBS' You who came from the stars, Kim Soo Hyun has received an outpouring number of offers. Aside from the drama, there were so many outstanding works as a lone actor, but he chose Producer because he said he was curious about the background."

Due to the popularity of last year's "You who came from the stars" not only domestically but even in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Kim Soo Hyun has been flooded with offers. However, Kim Soo Hyun was cautious. Also, the fan meetings and the commercial endorsements piled up in no time, so he continued to struggle in selecting his next work.

And after a year, he announced his next work, he was inclined to choose "Producer" because of his confidence in writer Park Ji Eun but it was not a solo starrer.

An official from Kim Soo Hyun's agency Keyeast said "The character or quality of work is more important than the percentage of the role. Kim Soo Hyun does not consider his work by thinking of the weight of the role. The work was chosen entirely because of the character and the quality of the script."

The official also said "The atmosphere at the script reading at that time was really good. There is a very high level of the script, hearty laughter was pouring out. Writer Park Ji Eun seems to be really meticulous. Everyone was satisfied."

Seeing the actor's value of work earlier, somehow, the production team and writer Park Ji Eun casting him accidentally, triggers concern if this would be capable of drawing interest.
