"Producer" Kim Soo Hyun's perseverance, the lone actor's choice

An official of KBS2 TV drama was talking about the realationship of the cast of "Producer" namely, Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin and IU who gathered together last March 23 for the first script reading somewhere in Southern Seoul.

The script was officially released on that first day and the officials were surprised with two  things: the proportion of Kim Soo Hyun's role and the quality of the script.

"Producer" which has attracted attention because of its stellar cast that includes Kim Soo Hyun, cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyon Jin, IU and Kim Jong Kook went to full fledge preparation during the script reading held last March 23. CP Seo Soo Min and writer Park Ji Eun have joined hands to work on the blockbuster show for the first half of the year.

And because of this, each of their moves is gaining hot interest. EVen the gathering for the script reading itself became an issue.

The officials saw the script that day and was surprised to see the proportion of KIm Soo Hyun's role. Of course since he is the leading actor, it's not absolutely a small amout, but the proportion of the roles of Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin and IU is 1:1:1:1. So it is evenly distributed."

The official continued, "After SBS' You who came from the stars, Kim Soo Hyun has received an outpouring number of offers. Aside from the drama, there were so many outstanding works as a lone actor, but he chose Producer because he said he was curious about the background."

Due to the popularity of last year's "You who came from the stars" not only domestically but even in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Kim Soo Hyun has been flooded with offers. However, Kim Soo Hyun was cautious. Also, the fan meetings and the commercial endorsements piled up in no time, so he continued to struggle in selecting his next work.

And after a year, he announced his next work, he was inclined to choose "Producer" because of his confidence in writer Park Ji Eun but it was not a solo starrer.

An official from Kim Soo Hyun's agency Keyeast said "The character or quality of work is more important than the percentage of the role. Kim Soo Hyun does not consider his work by thinking of the weight of the role. The work was chosen entirely because of the character and the quality of the script."

The official also said "The atmosphere at the script reading at that time was really good. There is a very high level of the script, hearty laughter was pouring out. Writer Park Ji Eun seems to be really meticulous. Everyone was satisfied."

Seeing the actor's value of work earlier, somehow, the production team and writer Park Ji Eun casting him accidentally, triggers concern if this would be capable of drawing interest.

Kim Soo Hyun Models for Jeju Air

The first few photos of the actor Kim Soo Hyun modeling for Korean low-cost carrier airline Jeju Air have been released.

 

Previously, it was reported that the popular actor will become the face of the airline for the next one year. The airline is known for hiring popular stars to promote its business. Some of its former models include BIGBANG and Lee Min Ho. 

 

In the latest images of the “My Love from the Stars†actor shows him as a Jeju Air flight attendant. In other pictures, he is dressed up as a pilot.

 

Kim Soo Hyun will be appearing in the upcoming drama “Producer,†to be aired on KBS.

 

Jeju Air currently flies 24 international routes between Korea and various other countries in Asia.

Kim Soo-hyun seeks comeback on silver screen

South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun is considering a role in the upcoming action film “Real,†according to his management company KeyEast. 

“Kim has already received the scenario for ‘Real’ and is carefully reviewing possible roles,†an official from KeyEast said in an interview with a local entertainment news outlet. 

Directed by Lee Jung-seob, “Real†centers on a man with dissociative identity disorder who has two conflicting personalities that fight off each other.

The film is earning attention from the public as it will mark Kim’s return to the big screen after two-year hiatus since his last role in the movie “Secretly Greatly,†if he stars in the action-thriller flick. 

It was earlier reported that “Real†will be produced by Sanai Pictures, a company that has also produced “New World.â€

Kim’s agency, however, played down the reports, saying the production company of the movie has yet to be confirmed. 

Kim, 27, has also starred in various hit movies such as “The Thieves†and “Secretly Greatly,†as well as his well-known stint on “The Man from the Star.â€

Kim is currently shooting for the much anticipated KBS2 TV series “Producer,†which is slated for a May premiere.

The first broadcast of the "Producer" starring Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin and IU will be this coming May 8.

On April 9, according to officials of the new entertainment drama "Producer", (written by Park Ji Eun, directed by Seo Soo Min), the show will have it's first broadcast this coming May 8 at 9:15 pm.

Officials revealed "It is scheduled to air at 80 minutes per episode, with a total of 12 episodes".

He added that the existing show that airs at that time, "Entertainment Weekly" will adjust its schedule and air at 10:35 pm this coming May 8.

"Producer" will then be competing in the timeslot with SBS' "Law of the Jungle" and TVN's "Grandpas over Flowers". It wll also be competing with the MBC and SBS for the audience rating for the weekend dramas during Saturdays.

On the other hand, "Producer" deals with the story that happens in entertainment stations stars Cha Tae Hyun, Gong Hyo Jin, Kim Soo Hyun, IU, Park Hyuk Kwon, Kim Jong Kook, Na Young Hee, Ye Ji Won, Seo Gi Cheol among others.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun has confirmed his appearance in the movie "Real" (to be directed by Lee Jung Sub).

On April 9, Kim Soo Hyun's agency Keyeast Entertainment said "Following his return to the TV screen with the entertainment drama KBS2 TV's Producer, he will continue with his big screen comeback with the movie Real".

After his 2013 movie "Secretly Greatly" which was seen by 7 million viewers, Kim Soo Hyun, who has struggled in the selection of his next work, has now gained attention with his comeback movie, "Real".

The movie "Real" is an action thriller noir about a colorful city under a dark world that always gets a request to be cleaned up by a troubleshooter. Writer Jang Tae Young happens to come to fill the gap.

Kim Soo Hyun will play the role of the merciless troubleshooter, Jang Tae Young, a man who is blinded by a desire for success whose ambition is to conquer the city by building a casino hotel. He will showcase a rich performance in a never been seen rough role.

Looking forward to a new challenge in every work he does and immersing himself in each charming character with his stable performance, Kim Soo Hyun is expected to showcase a different performance in this movie.

As a new PD in the entertainment drama, "Producer" and with the movie "Real", he plans to show off his performance in extremely opposite characters. His TV screen and big screen appearances scheduled this year are expected to further expand his success and his increasing influence.

The movie "Real" will be written by Lee Jung Sub who will also serve as its directo aims
