Today, Feb. 16, in celebration of actor Kim Soo Hyun's birthday, his fans club donated 5 million won to the Purme Foundation for the children's hospital rehabilitation funds.

On Feb. 16, an official from Kim Soo Hyun.com said "In preparation for the 28th birthday celebration this year, we planned a surprise donation event for Kim soo Hyun" and "the fans contributed 21, 600 won per month for a period of one year", he added.

Purme Foundation aims to open in spring next year, the 7th floor of Mapo-gu, Sangam-dong, Seoul for children with disabilities. 

In addition, the fans club of Kim Soo Hyun has been donating to the Foundation, 5 million won during his birthday for the past three consecutive years since 2013. 

Kim Soo Hyun who is celebrating his birthday today, made his debut at the age of 19, through the MBC sitcom "Kimchi Cheese smile" in 2007. Thereafter, he began to gain popularity through the dramas "Will it snow this christmas?", "Giant" and "Dream High". In particular, he rose to the top star ranks through "Moon Embracing the Sun" and by appearing in such movies as "Thieves" and "Secretly Greatly".

Over the past few months, he endured the tough times that were thrown at him like a storm. Finally, he is in London.

There's nothing new with an early winter in London.. Drizzling occurs several times a day, the cold air gives a chill over everyone's shoulder. The heaviness of the atmosphere makes people feel depressed. Therefore, the heavy air from his trip for the magazine pictorial may put a strain on his "real relaxation" and affect his mindset. 

For one year, he creased his mind and body with his compact daily schedules, similar to how an examinee of the SAT (Scholastic Ability Test) crams before the exams. Kim Soo Hyun is really like an alien who fell to the center of Asia one day and spread the "Hallyu wave" everywhere, but because of this, his personal life had to stop for a moment. 

The cameraman was like a friend who always followed him. His manager, including the staff are like family. From the time of "You Who Came from the Stars", he has been leading this type of life up to now.

"But recently, I went to the USA for half a month. I must admit that I have been riding the plane as much as I have been waving my hands, but this US trip is a personal trip. The starting point of the trip was in LA, where a close dongsaeng (younger brother) has been studying. Then, we drove a car and raced off to Las Vegas, ending the trip with a visit to New York. I didn't do anything in particular because there was no intention of a special work."

He just wanted to have some normal (private) time and expressed that this was a "Food Tour", where he noted and sought the famous restaurants. He went to a favorite homemade hamburger restaurant and even tasted unknown dishes out of curiosity. Away from the camera and the stage, he was in his natural appearance, without a care, a complete stranger and traveler.

About the time he was to return to his home country, photos of him taken at the New York subway become a hot topic in the internet, "Kim Soo Hyun's appearance in New York" became an issue. Wearing a light padded jacket and a snapback (baseball cap), he had an ordinary appearance.

Away from the spotlight, Kim soo Hyun's life is loose and leisurely. Under any circumstance, whether serious or not, he will not give a special meaning to it. He Just needs to know his place in the situation, protect the area and observe closely.

It was a week in London. He was able to adapt to the trip at a fast pace. If it were not only for the numerous times he had to go back and forth between Oxford and Regent Streets and for the fans who chased him and shouted "Do Min Joon" or "Kim Soo Hyun", he would have fully enjoyed the freedom of a traveler. He walked and walked, ate and ate. When he wanted to do something, he will not be confined by his own name, it is not a restricted style.

"I don't usually wear hats, glasses, sunglasses and more. when I am traveling abroad, I hope you'll pretend that you have not noticed me, I don't want to hide and lose my freedom of traveling by wearing glasses and sunglasses. It is like playing hide and seek."

For five days in London, he was showing off to people "the daily look" he prepared by himself, making the staff laugh by saying everyday, "Expect my 'look' tomorrow". He doesn't want to kill time in a department store for 3 to 4 hours just to choose the "it" item that he cannot get in his country. In the middle of Oxford street, he can even call all of the staff to go to his back, hold the monopod and have a selfie with them during London week. In London, Kim Soo Hyun is no more than an ordinary traveler who has become familiar with them through the course of time. He knows how to put down himself and mix in with the crowd. It is clear that the freedom he felt in this trip released an energy when he entered again into the camera's angle.

The next project he will appear in is loose in his mind and he also has the part of tightening it.

Next project..drama or movie

Whether it's because of the long break or the overwhelming joy at the present time, people are getting curious what his next project will be. Amidst all the chatter. Kim Soo Hyun knows that he himself can put an end to all these rumors. "I really have not decided yet. Honestly, the time when I am resting from acting, rather than the observers, the one who bears the weight more is me, the person concerned."

"However, about the next project, since it is something that cannot be talked about lightly, I have to be more cautious. People talk about knowing the next work or the next role, but there was none. My mind still wavers, I have not yet seen my match" and his fans are probably thinking that his next project will be a movie. I don't know how that analogy came out and through what process, but it means that the audience is looking forward to his next project. He is looking at both dramas and movies, the weight will be placed on either side, depending on the audience and advertisers' movements based on the ratings.

Recently, the Hallyu wave is getting stronger. Its influence is infinitely expanding not only domestically but all over Asia including China due to the actors' work. The sense of responsibility of the actor becomes even more important. And he has clearly understood that he is at the center of all this himself.

"Acting is a battle that needs time and patience. Some actors could not express their roles easily. If you cannot fully embody the character then that is not really "acting". It is similar to eating a delicious meal that gives you indigestion later." There are no right answers in acting and it is very hard to complete it.  

Acting and popularity can be found in apparently the same graph, but it does not necessarily rise at the same time. The reason why Kim Soo Hyun is considered a safe actor in many ways is that for every work he does, both have the same curved lines (acting and popularity) and they are very steeply drawn. The dramas "Dream High", "Moon Embracing the Sun" and "You who came from the stars" and the movies "Thieves" and "Secretly Greatly", whatever genre or medium, no matter what the character, the lines have an upward trend. To complete the goal, we have noticed that it is not enough for the actor to endure the pain.

As a perfectionist, Kim Soo Hyun immerses himself into the character until eventually it becomes his own self and even more. Many people ask whether his talent was naturally born or a result of sweat and hard work, only Kim Soo Hyun knows the answer. Whether his moves were instinctive or well trained, we would hardly notice them because he acts so naturally.

His voice penetrates the heart as he enunciates his lines, making his internal acting seem like reality. With his piercing look and fine hand movements, I wonder how many hours did he dedicate to become an actor that can cause excitement. 

If you look carefully at the intangible clothes called "actor" that Kim Soo Hyun wears, for some reason, that seems to exist in real life. Actor Kim Soo Hyun's eyes come alive and one by one, the cells of his entire body are raised to achieve the highest levels of emotions and come out in an astonishingly different angle everyday. At the touch of a button, depending on the situation, the effect of the transparent clothes that he wears, called the "actor" would disappear.    

Among the many photos taken in London, there were some where his eyes, nose and mouth were distorted. He has a very strange hobby (?) of making one's self look like a squid with the touch of a button. After the photos have been fully collected, he placed them in a photo folder in his mobile phone and got a big laugh after showing them to the staff as an appetizer while waiting for their meals to be served in the restaurants.

Wary of people, it takes longer for his professional characteristics to show unless the team demonstrate effectiveness. Kim Soo Hyun is just a little slow. Because of unfamiliarity, he is shy to be around people. It is more difficult to open your mind or to form a relationship that is amplified with curiosity about the new person. To fully reveal himself to people around him, enormous work is required each time. Thanks to the other party who noticed that he needs much time.

"This way, to reveal about one's self and to prove that I can make my name known more quickly, I fall short of that qualification. I don't have much confidence to come out and assert that I can do whatever I like. I may reach the destination slowly in my own way, but I honestly think, the process is just as important as the results." Recently, it is not seen. But it is possible to obtain fast results if you take to account the other side. Nevertheless, Kim soo Hyun has no thoughts of giving up his own method. "I don't know how to go fast, but I don't want to compromise my own right."

On the last day, he sat at the Golden Square bench and took a break with everyone. The air was very cold, the sky was completely dark the whole time, then suddenly the sun shone brightly. He was throwing pieces of cinnamon bread which he bought at a nearby cafe to the pigeons which all gathered at his feet. As if a cold thought entered his head, a fleeting moment passed by when his face had no expression. It was before catching a plane back to Korea, his head was covered by a cap that was not seen here by the staff. He boarded the airplane, at the same time, he is confined once more to a glass wall. The hilarious time he had in London that was wrapped by a festive Christmas-like atmosphere may disappear as a mirage. The cafe espresso breaks taken to keep the body warm when it drizzles will also go by. However, what's important is that all this time will make him produce another emotion when he comes back to us.

I know that after the success of You From Another Star, there's a lot of pressure for Kim Soo Hyun to pick a good project (drama), which is why he may be hesitating to take on another drama. I really hope that he accepts the role because this drama sounds like a winner. I haven't been so excited about a drama since I heard about Healer, which was back in September, although I wasn't nearly as excited about Healer as I am about Producer. 

 

I think it's even more difficult and pressuring because it will probably be one of his last projects before he enlists; so I'm sure they want him to leave on a high note.

 

Producer sounds great and it will be nice to see him in a comedy. And now with Gong Hyo Jin apparently also starring; I'm looking forward to it even more. Also what I love is that it's once again something different from his previous roles - one of the things I love about him is that he is very versatile and shows something different with each role/drama.

 

 

Lmao it's just that there's been quite a few proposals for KSH, yet he rejected all of them. I know he doesn't want to disappoint the public, but rejecting any of them isn't the answer. He's going to have to play a role before his military enlistment, so whether it be this or that role, he needs to PICK. Besides, apparently 'Producer' is The One because it's from the same team who produced 'The Stars'. If he doesn't pick that role, I don't know if he'll ever choose one.

What is 'Producer' about exactly?

About a rookie PD (KSH) vs. long time PD Cha Tae Hyun

 

The showbiz drama comes from star variety PD Seo Soo-min (Superman Returns, 1 Night 2 Days Season 3) and You From Another Star writer Park Ji-eun. It stars Cha Tae-hyun as a 10-year veteran variety PD with a mile-long list of credits to his name, but none of them are noteworthy in any way. Kim Soo-hyun plays the rookie PD who ditches the path to becoming a prosecutor and heads to work at the variety department of a TV network.

So, he's done a musical ('Dream High' - somewhat successful), a historical ('Moon' - success), a fantasy ('The Stars'- success) and this one will be comedy?

 

That's why I'm trying not to get too excited.

 

Rom-com I guess - I think it will sort of have the bickering tone between the love interests like Do Minjoon& Cheon Songyi had in Stars - I can practically see Gong Hyo Jin and Cha Taehyun fighting already

Probably, but he can put off his enlistment for an additional two years (2017), making him 29 in international age by that time. 

 

He can probably squeeze in two more dramas and a few movies. 

 

I definitely think he should film some movies right before he enlists so that they'll come out while he's in the army. That's what Lee Je Hoon did. It'll be like he was never gone. 

 

He should for sure stock up on a couple of movies for when he leaves. Tbh I think he should enlist by end of next year; delaying to/past 30 isn't necessarily good and netizens will turn on him as they are sensitive about anything to do with the army. I think he should do a drama this year then he can spend the rest of the year earning his CF Wons. Then shoot a movie for release in summer 2016, then another before he enlists in the winter to be released in 2017. Then he will be out by the end of 2018/early 2019.

 

I would have said he should enlist end of 2015 early 2016 but it doesn't look like he has plans for going any time soon.

I'm excited for the drama regardless of whether he is in it or not; at this point I know not to get carried away with his drama news.

I'll show any bit of interest when there is an explosion of news saying his officially picking a role. No offense but when will his CF's end? No matter how much I like him, I'm slightly getting sick of seeing him in endorsements lol

 

Most of his CFs recently got renewed so you will be seeing more of them lol; just pray he doesn't get more tbh. I don't even understand why he has some of them considering they are basically the same products; e.g. The Faceshop/Lemona aren't they both beauty products lines. But they must be paying well so he's cashing in - he has about 25+ currently.
