To be honest, I think it was right of him to do all the CF's offered to him... if he only did the big brands, people may see him as some sort of snobbish celeb who became famous through some silly drama.  I kind of agree that he should lower the amount of endorsements; he ought to have chosen more carefully and be selective as to which of those he personally wanted to represent.  As in select a few popular ones and a handful of brands which aren't as big as Samsung or Face Shop.  I think he'd get more awareness if he did smaller brands instead of big ones because they're too competitive, and I also hate how he is compared to other actors who are competing in other boutiques.

 

I don't mind him mixing it up with big and small brands; but some of the smaller brand endorsements seem so unnecessary (e.g. Nature Bounty). Would smaller brands be able to afford him. If he did do them, he would have to take on more cf's just to make up for the loss thus defeating the purpose.I guess maybe a large % of his CF deals were made when he was still up and coming so they were a good deal at the time. 

 

I guess it's cultural differences; like I still find it weird that top celebrities are doing CFs for ramen, chicken, health pills etc. Over here that doesn't really happen (especially for food) but when it does happen it's usually old stars who are not as popular anymore or reality stars. But K/Asia industry is different. Plus considering how little they get paid and all the training fees etc. I understand why.

 

What do you think about him being dropped for LMH for SamsoniteRED. At first I thought they didn't renew because he was too expensive but seeing that he's been replaced with LMH makes me curious. Over-saturation? I think it plays a part; that's why I want him to reign it in with the number of CFs. Plus he needs to get back to work to get people talking about his acting again.

On Dec. 22, according to a poll conducted by Gallup Korea over the past four weeks from October 29 until November 25 among 1703 people, over the age of 13 nationwide (except Jeju), the male and female leads of the drama "You who came from the stars" namely Kim Soo Hyun ( 19.6% ) and Jun Ji Hyun ( 17.6% ) landed in the first and third place respectively as the outstanding TV actor/actress for this year.

The second place went to Lee Yoo Ri ( 18.2% ), whose character was named as the national villainess in the MBC drama "Jang Bo-ri is Here!" Fourth place went to Song Yun ah ( 6.1% ) from "Mama", fifth place went to Oh Yeon-seo ( 5.9% ) from "Jang Bo-ri is Here!", sixth place is Lee Seong Gye ( 5.1% ) from "Jeong Do Jeon" and "What's with this Family", seventh place is Jo In Sung ( 4.6% ) from "It's Okay it's Love", eight place went to Go Doo Shim ( 3.2% ) from "One Warm Word", "Mother's Garden" and "The Legend of the witch", ninth place is Kim Tae Hee ( 2.7% ) from "Jang Ok Jung, Living by Love" and the tenth place is Kim Hee Ae ( 2.6% ) from "Secret Love Affair".

A large number of TV dramas have come this year to amuse the viewers. So much drama has reigned supreme last year. whereas this year was characterized by a variety of materials which brought intense competition for the ratings. 

2014 has been an eventful year, as each TV broadcasting station has their representative drama that brought joy, pleasure and so much emotions to the viewers.

â–  Hallyu Wave led by SBS "You who came from the Stars"

The first broadcast in Dec. 18 of last year created a variety of issues for the drama that was loved not only in Korea but all over Asia, the SBS drama, "You who came from the stars". Initially, the attention has been focused on the Hallyu stars, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun and not on the outstanding production. While Jun Ji Hyun slowed down after the movie "My Sassy Girl" and later "The Thieves", she made a drama comeback with "You who came from the stars" and enjoyed a second heyday in her career for playing the perfect character Cheon Song Yi. Kim Soo Hyun who rose to become a top star through the drama "The Moon Embracing the Sun" and the movie "Secretly, Greatly" took the role of Do Min Joon in "You who came from the stars" and immediately occupied a Hallyu star position.

The two actors were able to perfectly perform the roles of Cheon Song Yi and Do Min Joon because the drama had the signature of writer Park Ji Eun who rose to the position of Drama Ratings Queen for having written the back to back hits "Queen of Housewives", "My Husband got a family" and more. Hit writer Park has created a natural fantasy drama that appropriately used the setting and time slip in the first encounter between an alien who fell to earth since the Joseon Dynasty in Korea and a Hallyu star.

The popularity of "You who came from the stars" was felt on its last broadcast in February 27, when it recorded an unusually high viewership rating of 28.1% which is rare for a weekday drama. "You who came from the stars" syndrome became widespread in Southeast Asia, including China, which accounted for its top rank position in terms of Internet downloads and Chong Seon Yi enjoying "chi-maek" (fried chicken and beer) in the drama, experienced a boom.

On the other hand, SBS which has been empowered at the beginning of the year with "You who came from the stars" struggled with the ratings thereafter with such dramas as "Three Days", "You're all Surrounded", "Doctor Stranger", "It's Okay, it's Love", "Secret Door", etc. Despite the splendid cast, they failed to meet expectations.
