Fans Will Have to Wait Until Next Year for Kim Soo Hyun’s Next Drama or Film

Fans will not be able to see mega-star Kim Soo Hyun‘s next major drama or film project until next year, due to the actor’s packed schedule filled with promotional events until the end of this year.

According to an acquaintance of the popular actor, “Kim Soo Hyun’s schedule is full until the end of the year. After the completion of ‘Man from the Stars‘ he has had endless promotion events and advertising deals both domestically and internationally. We thought the second half of the year would get better, but we have gotten numerous offers from China. December will be full of award ceremonies.â€

A representative from Kim Soo Hyun’s agency further commented, “He has gotten offers in dramas and films, but he has yet to decide on his next project. You will most likely see his next work early next year. We are all choosing his next project with the uttermost concern, as we want to show you the best work."

ABC Adapting Hot Korean Drama 'My Love From Another Star' (Exclusive)

ABC is looking to Korean format 'My Love from Another Star' for its next breakout hit.

 

The network has handed out a script commitment with a penalty attached to a remake of the Korean hit, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

 

Based on the Korean format, 'My Love' explores why a superhero has to save the world and asks why he can't save just one girl.  ABC's take is described as epic supernatural love story about a world-famous actress, Lark, and her anti-social neighbor, James, who happens to be from another planet.  Disillusioned by the pettiness of human nature, and a resident of Earth for the past several hundred years, James has a centuries-old rule that he will never use his abilities to intervene in the lives of the people around him.  But when he gets a premonition that the infuriatingly self-centered but compelling Lark is going to be murdered, James finds himself drawn into her chaotic life and falling deeply in love - just as he finally has the chance to return to his home in the stars.

 

Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain (CW's The 100, 666 Park Avenue, The Vampire Diaries, Dollhouse) will pen ABC's adaptation and exec produce.  Ji-eun Park, creator of the original series, is on board to executive produce alongside Bomi Moon from the flagship's producer HB Entertainment, which owns the format.  The ABC adaptation will be produced by HB Entertainment and EnterMedia Contents in association with Sony Pictures Television.  EnterMedia Contents head Sebastian Lee will exec produce.  David Kim will co-exec produce.

 

Airing in December to February in Korea, the fantasy romance earned star Jun Ji-hyun the highest award for TV at this year's Baeksang Arts Award.  The series ranked as Korea's favorite program in a Gallup Korea poll in Feb after captivating an average viewership of 24 percent.  The show drew record viewership in Korea and China, where it became one of the most-viewed streaming shows on Chinese shows on Chinese platform iqiyi, collecting more than 2.5 billion streams during the three-month window.

 

The show's viral appeal also ignited food, fashion and book crazes in China, with fans of the series rushing out to buy clothing, snacks and literature featured in the series.  

 

Writing duo Craft and Fain are repped by Bloom Hergott.

 

This marks the latest Korean format to be adapted stateside this development season.  CBS is also teaming with EnterMedia to develop a medical drama based on the South Korean series 'Good Doctor' and NBC is readying an unscripted show based on 'Grandpa Over Flowers'.

LMH was endorsing a massage armchair recently and his tickets were only be sold to those who bought the massage armchair   omg seriously, now Kmoons are doing exactly the same with whatever Samsonite which KSH is endorising.  No wonder oppa turns down a year of acting for easy money

he's cuter with a little bit more meat on his cheeks. he's sexier and more mature when he loses weight! Although I want him to stay healthy, I can't help going back to watching the first episodes of My Love From The Star when he was quite skinny because he looked hot as f*uck there!

He did look gorgeouss in 'My Stars', I hope he goes back to that figure when he takes on acting again.

On Sept. 29, the Chinese media reported that "Kim Soo Hyun will come back with an attractive character for his next project."

 

On the 28th, Kim Soo Hyun took part in the promotional event of a mobile phone company that was held in Hong Kong. "I will try to continue to maintain a good image in the future. Thanks to the love of the fans."

 

After finishing the filming of the drama, "You who came from the stars" at the beginning of this year, Kim Soo Hyun followed it up with an Asia Fan Meeting tour. Recently, he has been going to events and promotions to see the fans.

I can't imagine KSH taking the role of a "flower boy" unless the character intrigues him and he wants to explore that into more depth.  He hasn't disappointed me so far, so I have nothing to worry about yet in terms of his choice of script.  But I beg him to hurry back 

 

I think so too, he would lose weight easily when filming thus its interesting to see him this chubby and like u said, as long as he stays fit and healthy (and be able to enjoy the food he likes) that would be great, we always love hime as he is

So many split personality dramas coming up that now I'm kind of being turned of them. There KMHM, Hyun Bin's Hyde, Jekyll and I and now this. DF can be great but all these dramas will be pitted against each other especially with Hyde, Jekyll and I. I can see the KSH vs. Hyun Bin articles already. But I'm still excited that we got some acting news.

I'm happy to hear news of him taking on another project, it's time to leave the well-loved Do Min Joon-ssi behind for good.  

 

There is no indication that 'Doctor Frankenstein' has a split personality.  If by split personality, however, mean the creature is another side to the doctor as interpreted in the original book by Shelley, then I'd love to know how it'd play out.  I'm relieved he didn't pick the multi-personality chaebol because that is too much to take on.  I hope it's a well-written medical drama, not too much love involved (but I'm sure there will be to a degree!) because sometimes love interest can kill a drama stone dead.

most of the articles have mentioned his character being a genius doctor with mutiple personalities. whilst a mary shelley -esque interpretation would be amazing, this is kdrama land so i don't see it happening; it seems more like they are loosely using the title the name rather than it having any real connections. like you said well written medical drama would be great - maybe moonlighting as a backstreet doctor at night etc. but this just reminds me of the abomination that doctor stranger turned into so on second thoughts no! 

I haven't watched 'Doctor Stranger' so I have no idea what that's like

When actor Kim Soo Hyun was signing autographs at a recent ZioZia event in Seoul, a fan asked him to draw Hello Kitty for her 5-year-old daughter. Kim said sure and immediately drew a Hello Kitty image, and he seemed pleased with the result. Once the fan posted the stunning image online, Kim's Hello Kitty drawing has become an internet sensation for NOT looking like Hello Kitty at all.

Weibo user LadyKMoon posted her autograph from Kim and recounted how it happened. She asked Kim to draw Hello Kitty for her daughter who loves Hello Kitty. Kim immediately drew it and was even pleased with the result by saying, "Yes, this is Hello Kitty!"  The fan, however, was not so sure.

I don't begrudge him the time off (as he deserves it) but I wish there was something confirmed so that we would have a project to look forward to. All we have are just speculations. It feels like we might end this year without a word on his next role  

 

I see bloated cheeks... he just overall gained weight in my eyes, I miss the sexy professor or the cunning/witty Lee Kwon, that's all.

I'm not annoyed that he has this much time off either; as you said, we need some concrete evidence that he'll come back to the small screen, a when to be exact.  No more speculations as to what role he wants, just an official statement from KeyEast or a piece of announcement that KSH is coming back to whatever drama.

So I've been looking some KSH up lately and I just don't see the small head or small face that K-netizens are claiming him to have. I think his head and face are rather on the bigger side.

I was going to mention that KSH needs to get his act (well, figure) together!  I heard he lost his endorsement for a sofa or bed or something to Kim Woo Bin just because he's no longer the lean and sexy guy.  Oppa needs to watch how much weight he is gaining, this is not good.

Well, his obvious earned weight is enough for him to lose an endorsement... I think the message is clear enough.  I'm not saying he should be skinny and anorexic, but he does have an image to keep up.  As they say beauty is painful, but appearance needs to be in check in the entertainment industry.

 

Hahaha pressed people giving me negs? bring it on! it's just my opinion, wow...
