Curious what people's thought on repackaged albums are.

Do you like them? Would/do you buy them?

I like that it has new songs and is a way to promote the same album basically with some fresh material, but I guess overall I don't really like them. Fan you bought the first version might feel gypped a bit, plus while it promotes the album again, it can also bury some other gems on the album that could have been promoted instead.

I do like how they boost sales for the singers, and i do think they serve a purpose sometimes.

I don't really know what to feel about it coz my bias group has never released one.

Anyway, if they did and I have a feeling that they would... I might just buy the repackage then and not the initial release. Or I can buy the 1st one then if the songs added on the repackaged are great, I might consider buying it.

Hmm mine haven't either, except for the Sweet Dream mini repackage. That is a case where just making it all a full album and then promoting the song later would have been better imo, though it might drop sales.

Having a follow-up song from the same album, and giving it an Mv seems so rare. It's usually some new sort of album or single, or it gets not video and little promo.

Promoting off the same album can help though. I didn't like Got7's "I like you" at all until I saw them promote it. Would never have really payed much attention to it if they say release a repackaged or new single or something.

overall, NO since the repackaged songs are usually NEVER as good the originals and i feel especially for those that are released less then a month after the original that labels are just milking fans for every penny they have

This is closer to how I feel.

IMO, why not just include those repackaged tracks on the first album? I know it's to boost sales and had some fresh material. It makes me wonder though if fully promoting another track from the same album would be unsuccessful, since people might have heard it already.

I semi like them.

Without Paradise Repackage Inspirits wouldn't have the repack of Over The Top.

Over The Top only has 20k albums so it's expensive and can be difficult to buy.

This is one case I feel like repackages belong, and are a good reason to have them. The Over the Top album when out of print because of sales volume, correct?

I like the way Big Bang did repacks with Alive. It had like 4 new songs which is enough for me to buy it.

I agree. It's so obvious when a repack is a cash grab and when it's actually made with effort.

Was about to say this. lol damn B2ST and their limited editions.

Btw yes if they add songs better than the original album, like EXO did last year. Growl and repack >>>>>>>> Wolf

If not, I don't really mind.

OMG their limited editions... I've never bought one obviously for practical reasons. I don't really look at their pics and all so it's just the cd I'm after and supporting them. I mean their limited editions just means 5x more pics or something and maybe an additional freebie or something but I don't need those. -_-

aren't repackaged albums like...... normal edition albums but with additional songs? I prefer repackaged for the extra tracks, but I hate it when the repackaged album has the exact same tracks as the normal edition which makes the normal one irrelevant. I like TVXQ's repackage of kyhd/bug, but tense/spellbound sucks; same tracklist+extrasongs.

kyhd normal edition had that one seohyun track on it while the repackage doesn't have it ~

Yea with the F&F LE was more worth the money than the midnight sun one which just had a humongous photobook and a lot of photocards, with like a glass cleaner, this card holder and this random gold card that if it had any meaning would be useless to an international fan. The poster for the first one was better too.

Love-hate.

On one hand I like the new music that comes with then repack, but they can also be a bit annoying if theyre done lazily or if its actually better than the original and youve already bought the first album. Unless you have the money to buy the same thing twice or dont mind it.

I like them.

My only problem with them is the fact that I never know when they will actually make them lol.

That's why I don't always buy albums on the day of release unless I know for sure that they won't release a repackaged album later.
