Clarification: YG audition show is different from YG Broduce 101

YG Entertainment will be collaborating with other companies for the first time.

Along with Han Dong Chul PD, YG Entertainment will collaborate with agencies and their rookie groups on a new audition program that will air this fall.

They will be creating a new group by ultimately selecting members who are NOT trainees already (already debuted idol groups) and re-debuting them in their own new group.

Yang Hyun Suk will personally be involved and Teddy, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and PSY will all appear as judges.

YG Entertainment is determined to make a new concept/style of audition show that is loosely based off of Produce 101, but complements the style PD 101 had.

Note: This is a completely brand new show, separate from their upcoming Boy Group survival program. YG is also planning out their survival show with 30+ male trainees, including Bang Yedam. (There have been contradicting articles on just what Bang Yedam will be doing on the show).

YG Entertainment has also planned BLACKPINK TV, WINNER TV, and iKON TV.

YG Entertainment's new office has 40 video editing rooms and 15 conference rooms. Also each floor contains an area with showers and massage chairs for employees to relax and clean up a bit.

With over 20 PDs signed to their label and a perfect environment, YG Entertainment artists and PDs have been meeting weekly to discuss ideas.

So YG Audition Show is more like a combination KBS 99 Match & K-Pop Star Combined = nugu idols, male & female, will have a new project debut group at the end (HOPEFULLY COED), star-studded judges, popularity + ranking contest, unknown if group will be signed with YG or it's only the show that will be a YG production so pretty much a co-ed Produce 101 on steroids.

YG Broduce 101 = 30 male trainees (or more), same like YG group survival/formation shows but probably more popularity/ranking based, group will be a purely YG boygroup. Bang Yedam may or may not be a contender but this most likely will be a permanent boyband.

How is this even work?

I understand debuting trainees, but rookies?

Plus how long this group will last? With YG management, their group usually come back once in every two years, maybe even more.

So again, tell me how is this going to work?

Both groups will be permanent.

I honestly think the term "debuted rookies" is just a PC term for "failed nugus"

So pretty much debuted idols who have hit a roadblock at this point - I'm thinking something like the boys of C-Clown, Hello Venus etc...

So this new group will be a temporary one right? Since the idols all have their original companies to go back to?

Hopefully it's temporary so the YG success of the 'project group' translates to their nugu groups but I read somewhere it's permanent. Let me look for the source again.

I bet big time this was inspired by NUEST's rise!

Ahh so they haven't actually explained whether the group will be permanent or temporary?

I read somewhere this is a permanent group but I don't know how that will work out tbh since some trainees will be from other companies. I personally would rather they're temporary and YG should do some charity.

Big mess though if the project group that comes out of this show will be more popular than the purely YG one in the other show lmao

Was about to ask if it temporary or permanent for the group...

So maybe all members from rookie/flop groups will participate, and if the mems from those groups selected they will have to leave their original group then?? if this group project is permanent.

Is agencies are okay with it? It is more make sense if it just temporary.

I really hope the audition program with rookies from other companies is for a ggroup. they already have a survival program for a bgroup and wanna one is debuting soon to have ANOTHER project bgroup would just be messy. And imagine the careers that this could make for the rookie members that are involved. the yg audience will be exposed to them and they will follow them to their real groups.

Yeeun and Seungyeon of CLC would be so perfect for a program like this. They both have the YG image and they're both incredible and would dominate on a show like this. and they could bring so much exposure to CLC by redebuting in a project group under YG

(Yeeun is the main rapper and Seungyeon is the one wearing the jacket for those that dont know)

A program like this could make so many ggroups that have yet to receive expose I really do hope it includes ggroup rookies
