Um because it's emotionally damaging?Why didn't they do this for blackpink instead if they have alot of female trainees. This causes fanwars and division that no one needs right now

emotional damage and fanwars are needed casualties for the main victory of scoring legions of emotionally invested and rabid viewers, a good chunk of which will turn into consumers. competition is incredibly lucrative.

 

i have no idea why they didn't employ a survival for blackpink but it could be bc they already debuted survival offshoots winner & ikon and wanted a buffer. idk, i would have enjoyed it.

I mean, they just had a survival show like 3 years ago with Winner and IKon, and we saw YG completely waste the momentum they both had.

I personally don't know about that since I've only been in kpop since 2015 but perhaps they were talking music wise? Most of us fans (of certain groups in particular) have only been complaining about the decisions YG has made the last couple of years. I think it could rely on which yg groups fan your going to ask and as a winner stan. well...
