(Amateur report made by me based on the events that went down yesterday at my area)

The entirety of a private apartment complex nicknamed as "Los Verdes" (The Green Ones), home of over 7000 citizens of Venezuela, were raided yesterday at about 6PM by tactical teams of the state police (CPNB, DGCIM, DCDO, CONAS, FAES and a few more, unidentified corps), political police/intelligence service forces (SEBIN) and government-financed, heavily armed paramilitary/fanatic groups/militia (aka "Colectivos" or National Bolivarian Militia) which summed up estimates around 150-300 armed men and were supported by previous reconnaissance and intel from a few already identified insiders, after a few hours of siege by the National Guard and a whole day of tension that built up to 4 hours of true hell.

The alleged reasons were "hosting, supporting and financing terrorist and paramilitary groups" - protesters who have set resistance against the government's dictatorial and repressive policies in the recent months, supported by locals who brought them food and medicine in a country where these 2 basic goods are becoming more and more valuable due to the huge shortage.

Earlier in the morning, unknown suspicious subjects in the complex were sighted taking photos and messaging, the locals would then know what was it all for - the same event they had feared and waited with anxiety after weeks of surveillance and siege, was about to happen

The whole raid was likely triggered by the alleged shootout that went down earlier that morning between Colectivos who performed a drive-by shooting (with support from the National Guard), and locals, who answered with firearms and wounded 3 or 4 National Guards, among them a Captain.

After a few hours of extremely heavy siege which everyone suspected was due to the barricades the local resistance put in the nearest point of the main highway of the city (right besides the compound), the special forces broke into the complex by tearing down all of the main gates with armored vehicles, rapidly assaulting the place and repressing the locals with huge amounts tear gas and alleged gunfire, overcoming all the lines of defense the resistance had set up against the National Guard in previous weeks and breaking down every single door and gate they saw, breaking windows, damaging private property, stealing valuables, attacking locals,

23 people were taken by the state forces without any order from the court or the ministry, and were charged with terrorism with little to no proof other than some of them holding homemade shields, masks, and other representative artifacts of the average protester. The raiders vandalized the entirety of the ground floor and the basement/parking lot of the building complex with no reason whatsoever other than probably trying to instill fear among the locals, destroying over 80 personal vehicles and stealing an undetermined amount of personal property

The state forces raided apartment by apartment in 11 out of 12 buildings trying to track down already identified protesters and cooperators, interrogating civilians with the threat of vandalizing their home and attacking their relatives and family, according to locals.

A dog was shot by the SEBIN in the head with pellets at close distance which caused it to bleed massively and had to be put down eventually, this was due to it being "too loud".

Earlier today, congressmen of the opposing party went to the site of the event showing sympathy and solidarity to the locals, inspiring them even more to fight against the "socialist" regime that has ruled the country for over 18 years now and has now taken away more things than they had ever done before. And so the resistance with even more support by the locals set up stronger defenses a few moments ago, repaired all the damage possible done to the property, tracked down collaborators earlier today, and are more determined than ever.

there's little SNS coverage because energy, internet and phone service were cut down in the compound at the moment of the siege, most of the videos around in social media were taken from the nearby buildings.

Personal Comment: the videos don't cover even 10% of the events and even less so the fear and tension that went down at the moment.

brief report of the damage caused by the raids with a few videos of the events

biased and a relatively manipulated report from government followers (but it covers how massive the whole operation was in the later bits of the clip):

you can search for more info by googling "Los Verdes", which was #3 trending topic yesterday on Twitter. Periscope streamings had the best coverage but i couldn't find any reupload right now.

a few, important pictures, there's a pic of the injured dog so discretion is advised

Dude I hope your ok

I have a question, How did Maduro get into power?

long story short, he was the "successor" for the now-deceased president Chavez and he won the elections after his death by a small percentage due to Chavez's influence given he was such a popular leader (controversial as hell, but he appealed to the poor class which have always been a majority in the country and many people whose's lives were pretty much saved by his socialist policies felt like they owed him much and were overall really thankful for it, the thing is that most of his other policies were a total mess and he was pretty authoritarian)

I'm sorry to hear that, please stay safe.  Also I'm hearing something about Venezuelans escaping to other country like Brazil:

yeah most venezuelans flee as soon as they have the opportunity because they just don't see a future in this country, in the south they flee to Brazil and in the west to Colombia, but the others have to face the situation if they aren't really rich or have family/friends that can help them from outside to escape the country because it's extremely hard to do it otherwise

I hope those Venezuelans refugees that are in Brazil don't get detained and deported by the authorities, I'll be sad if that happen.

In my country the politicians are using the situation of your country for their political agenda, the socialistic side is saying that everything the media says about Venezuela is false that people aren't struggling to eat and that the goverment is helping their people, on the other hand the opposite side is saying that Venezuela is struggling because of their goverment and our secretary of foreign affairs is having a social media war with Venezuela.

I personally believe both sides are really stupid, the first one for lying and condoning the political situation of a country when the people are not satisfied, and the second one for trying to make their to highlight the situation of other countries to hide the situation of ours.

I also think that this is the time that we as latin-americans should help, we always say that we are brothers, that we are blood, that we are really united, I think it's time to prove it, we should welcome venezuelans immigrants, provide more help both medical and food, etc. we shouldn't let people suffer for this type of situations.

Stay strong OP. Venezuela is not mentioned as much as it needs to be. Yes, the media covers it, but they should cover it more because I feel like people don't realize how big it is what's happening there.
