One member saying the n-word, another being homophobic, etc etc. And now one is being accused of being culturally insensitive. What's going on with them? Are they a prejudiced group or...? (their culture is different than yours) Edit: more detail ~ N word, cultural appropriation and homophobia is not a thing in Korea. They don't have such stuff in their daily life. I know it's really hard to understand that from the viewpoint of a westerner (since there are lots of different races in your countries and you know what would offend which race) but this is not the same in Asian countries. For example, if some comedian from my country said "ching chang chong" noone would feel bad about this and this would not make the news. I know this is racist af and i don't do that kind of stuff but majority does not care about this. Most of Koreans have no idea what "n word" or "cultural appropriation" or "homophobic" is... All of the idols are grown up in this culture, so probably most of them don't care about this stuff. Some other groups might not have this kind of "scandals" because it seems like Got7 is not as stricted as other groups on when, where and what they should talk. btw Idk why you still bring up homophobia issue since Korean netizens said that he was not homophobic btw. The N word, said member apologized and hasn't done anything since so how can you say he hasn't learn anything? Other controversies other members don't even know exist but hey whatever. This one is ehh to me as well..he should've probably just shut up but what done is done. They haven't done more or less than other kpop groups. But sorry they are flawed people who make mistakes and aren't perfect. No one is perfect not even us kpop stans who think we are woke on every issue. GOT7 did a show callled IGOT7 where he sprayed mud on himself and a fan sent him a edit pic that was darker, he immediately took it down and an apology followed afterwards.. that was literally 3 years ago this controversy right here is stupid to me and I'm black but whatever people can go on being offended about it. But, and I don't want to make it seem like I'm trying to excuse every distasteful thing that Got7 has done, but as with all of their controversies, you have to keep in mind that most of them are from a part of the world where a lot of the stuff that they've said or done, that some threw a hissy fit about, isn't frowned on - all of the time. But got7 has so many fans of different races/sexualities,and meet them often. They should know that they should be careful when making such statements. As celebrities they should get educated on topics like this.And I'd assume that Mark(being American) would know that some of these statements could offend people,and stop his group members from making such dumb mistakes. I have no idea what your talking about, I'm talking about this In which he used blackface in the commercial, yes, it's a commercial but he should have just said no, like Eric Nam. The only time I hear about GOT7 is when their controversies are brought up. Jackson's blackface BamBam using the N word Yugyeom being drunk JB's homophobic comments.
