Why do you guys think K netizens and c netizens are so harsh?

I noticed many people were super pissed and upset and just distraught by the heartlessness in TOP's alleged overdose article (not the police statement, the one before it).

I translated c netizens so I can verify those are indeed the top comments lol (anyone curious: http://weibo-go.blogspot.com/2017/06/big-bangs-top-faints-familyfriend-he.html?m=1 ) idk about Korean entertainment but I have some suspicions that some Chinese entertainment MAY actually delete positive comments... u may look at the translated piece if u wanna know what I meant

Why do you think such a difference exist? Is it a culture or upbringing thing? I'm curious what intl fans think about the difference.

I'll edit this if need cuz I'm not the best at articulating

Edit: ppl on OH seem different! :) good thing though. From twitter replies and all I see people hurling insults and all. They seemed super affected that's why I wondered if there was a difference with intl fans and k/c netizens such that they were so affected and started cursing netizens and translators lol

Edit READ THIS IF YOURE LAZY to read all the above. Don't just read my title? I'm asking cuz I saw the reaction of intl fans and was surprised by their violent reaction. I'm NOT asking cuz I'm judging the comments of K/C netizens. It's not k/c netizens that shocked me but the intl fans' replies I happened to come across

I don't really think it's that different from netizens in other countries. I mean the rest of the English speaking word has places like 4chan and worse. Just look at the comments section of any video on Youtube that is even slightly political. It's not just c-nets and k-nets. Most people that voice their opinion on the Internet do it because they know they are doing it behind a screen.

Ok I don't have the best reputation on OH but damn. What the fuck, people 0u0plz.png Chill. Let the man recover in peace. Put down your pitchforks for a minute.

Maybe it's the mentality? In those countries, weed is perceived very badly. And those countries are notorious for bullying and mob mentality. Law is order and breaking it unleashes great backlash. Also, TOP is a celebrity so the public will extra scrutinize him. After all, he has young fans.

Thanks for your insight and taking the time to reply to this thread

I was wondering what the difference was because intl fans replied super harshly on twitter with insults. They were cursing translators and netizens for being heartless and karma will strike or something "fuck you". It was an... intense reaction so it got me thinking "you mean it doesn't happen in your country so you're so shocked?" hence I asked

this. The stuff that I see on Nate is comparable to comments on Yahoo (though Yahoo commenters like to politicize everything. I'm not even joking when I say that I remember seeing a couple of people bringing up Obama on an article that had absolutely nothing to do with politics).

People are like that everywhere

The difference is that Korea and media industry give a lot of attention to the comments ans netizens.

Why you base everything on the opinions of people only God Knows how old they are?

That's the difference between them and our countries

And of course culture plays a crucial role

Im not sure if you read my OP. But I'm not asking cuz I saw Korean and Chinese netizens comments. I'm asking cuz I saw the reactions of INTL fans on Korean and Chinese netizens comments hence I asked what do intl fans think of KC comments to get a bigger picture. Because I'm surprised by the large amount of violent reaction from intl fans that I came across on twitter.

Read the political threads here. Instant outrage - very little issue comprehension.  K-Netz are the same. Frustrated with the pressures of their real lives (i.e., the endless daily drama of being a 13-year-old fat girl tortured by beauty ideals in Korea), they unload their venom on whatever hapless idol happens to be in their sights that day. :)

The Internet remains a bad place to find valid criticism - of just about anything.

I don't think they are worse, as far as I saw people are bad in general and there are a few twists related to cultural differences that make a few things harder for people from outside understand, but in general people like judging everywhere.

Honestly I don't like that and is a very bad habit that we shouldn't support. I try to police myself from doing that online or offline cause you can get used with it and make life a lot harder. Is not I don't think is ok or natural to have an opinion on things, we do and we all should support that, however when you judge something you hardly have a clear point of view from the whole situation and is easy to be unfair. If you decide is ok to keep going like that with time you will find ok to get single unique details and develop a whole story that 99% of the time is not really close to the truth.

We humans always did that even in the past since we know due tons of history episodes all around the world many events happening with just rumours and miss judgements, but with SNS and internet got a lot bigger and we can sit in our houses and decide about things we don't always understand and criticize. Wonder how that will affect future relationships between people cause honestly for my own experience with my family, getting used to criticize is really easy, but is really hardcore to change back later.

Is a lot easier to say something bad than complimenting someone! :(

Well, that's how I kind of understand this issue, but I might be completelly wrong, who knows ohdearplz.png

idk but when i read comments of news articles from my country it's all equally dumb & terrible... bunch of ppl who think in an extreme way and are very insensitive and rude. it's probably bc they can be anonymous like it was already said.

I think that the anonymity of the networks is combined with the world of fans who are totally competitive and aggressive to other groups that are not their own. A group as successful as Big Bang has many anti-willing to throw themselves on them to the least occasion, and this is an occasion that they will not let slip.
